Freely You have Received, Freely Give

"...freely ye have received, freely give." Matthew 10:8b

How did you get saved? Did you work for it? Did you do something to earn it? Did you do enough "good deeds" to deserve it? Have you been in church long enough to qualify? No to all the above.

You were saved by putting faith in what the Lord Jesus Christ did for you on the cross. It was a free gift that you received by faith. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8,9)

Now that you have it, what are you going to do with it? Are you going to keep it to yourself? Are you going to hide it somewhere and only bring it out only on Sundays? Or are you going to share it with others? God gave you the free gift of salvation and He wants you to share it with those who don't have it. He wants you to take this wonderful new life that you have received and testify to someone else so that they might have the same opportunity to receive that you did.

It didn't cost you anything to get it, what do you have to lose if you share it with someone else so that they might have it too? It won't cost you anything, but if you don't share it, it will cost them everything.... it will cost them their soul. Freely you have received this wonderful gift, now freely share it.

When was the last time you shared with someone else what you have so freely received from the Lord?

[ Prayer for the Day ]

Lord, yesterday I thanked You for all that You have done for me. I received these blessings freely from You by believing in You. I would like others too to be blessed, so give me the courage to give the good news I received from You. This year let me testify You to all the people near to me, whom You have put in my life. I ask this prayer in Your mighty Name. Amen.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
