They shall soon be cut down like grass
Psalms 37:1,2 - Fret (anger) not thyself because of evildoers (the wicket), neither be thou envious (zealous) against the workers of iniquity (unrighteousness). For they shall soon be cut (trimed/clipped) down like the grass, and wither as the green herb (new grass).
Today's message is a double message both for the unrighteous and those pursuing righteousness.
For those living an unrighteous life and thinking that all these warnings are a joke. Soon the joke will be on you. You will not know what hit you and may not have time to repent and turn back. The door may be closed on you and disaster will be all over you. You may be surprised that those know God and reject the path of righteousness will be hit the most.
And for those pursuing righteousness; PLEASE and I again repeat PLEASE do not waste your time and resource by getting angry against the unrighteous. Please optimize what ever little resource you have for the goodness of God's Kingdom. Punishments on the unrighteous are soon going to flow out one after another by the Lord, let the Lord handle them. By getting angry you may land up sliding back yourself.
Anger against evil is good but at the same time it is also very dangerous. It is like a live grenade in your hand which can explode if you slightly loosen your grip. Remember slow to anger is a fruit of the Holy Spirit.
[ Prayer Starter ]
Father God, You are righteous and holy. Righteousness is the basis on which all things connected to You are based. Lord, help me pursue your righteousness. I know I will never be fully righteous, but by pursuing righteous I will abide in the Vine - Jesus Christ and cover myself with His righteousness and receive your Salvation. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.
