The wrong candidates of Babylon

Daniel 1:4 - young men in whom there was no blemish, but good-looking, gifted in all wisdom, possessing knowledge and quick to understand, who had ability to serve in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the language and literature of the Chaldeans.

When the Apostles had the task of choosing people for leadership positions the first important factors which they looked for was being filled with Holy Spirit, character, being socially responsible etc.

The reason the RC Church is having a great problem with its priest is because the people who have being made priest are never connected with anointing, fruit of the Holy Spirit, gifts of the Holy Spirit. The first criteria which is asked for is education. They have a minimum education qualification to become a priest if you do not have this then you can serve the Church but as a Brother.

This is very contrary to the Bible and anything done contrary to the Word of God will always fail.

Forgetting the sex scandal (paedophile and homosexuality) which is hitting the church; it is no secret that many of the priests love to be in other spirits like alcohol and money (sometimes the congregation to influence them send bottles openly to the priest on celebrations which they accept and sometimes complain after consuming). The Church turns a blind eye towards these small matters and then tries to run for cover, hide its face and make excuses when matters go out of hand. You can blame the climate, the planets, the stars, the birds and the bees but when will it blame its thinking, its system and change it? Good public relations and media management will not solve its problem but getting rooted in the Word of God and by the Spirit of God it will.

Like the King of Babylon if this Church's leaders choose its candidates on mental and physical criteria as its bases then you will not get spiritual leaders but management leaders. This is the reason from a church it has turned into a well managed institute sans God.

The Christian Church on the other hand has learned from this mistake, today I know of a Pastor with whom I am involved with doing the Youth Revival program set for Nov (please keep it in prayer) who is just 7th standard pass. The amount of people he has bought into the Lord I doubt a whole RC Church or a number of them together collectively may have added unto the Lord.

In my conversation with a RC Church priest, one of the questions I put to them is, ask them how many years they are serving in the Lord and in these years how many people have they added unto the Lord. Many could not give me a single name and for the rest I did not go over one hand. Of the hundreds of priest I know (since I was closely connected with this church) there were only 4 such priest who did well (like the thousands and thousands taken to Babylon only a few stood out). Out of these 2 have being transferred to some remote place (decommissioned) and one fell unto riches and fame and got himself transferred to a church abroad (with hardly a congregation and in a language which he had to learn before leaving) so that he could provide to his poor family back home - they get paid in dollars (foreign currency) for every mass in addition to a fixed amount. Only 1 of them left the Church and is still doing God's work of adding people unto the Lord, with no human boss for restrictions.

It is time we realized the mistakes we have been making by twisting and manipulating the Word of God; else we will pay the price.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord Jesus, You came to earth and became the Way for us not to start a religion or an institute, but to mend relationship between God and man. You gave us instructions and also showed us as a living example of how to spread the Gospel and build people in You. Your disciples learnt and followed You and these are recorded for us in the books of Acts. Holy Spirit it was You Who led them and enlightened them; led Your Church of today, enlighten its leaders to follow You in Spirit and Truth and help your people to discern whom they follow...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[ Reference Scriptures ]
Acts 6:2-4
2 And the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not fit that we should forsake the word of God, and serve tables.
3 Look ye out therefore, brethren, from among you seven men of good report, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
4 But we will continue stedfastly in prayer, and in the ministry of the word.

1 Timothy 3:1-13
1 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
8 Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;
9 Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
10 And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.
11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.
12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
13 For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
