Want to inherit the land?

Psalms 37:7,8,9 - Rest (be still) in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret (kindle anger) not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices (intentions) to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret (kindle anger) not thyself in any wise to do evil. For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit (posses) the earth (land).

Today's message is an extension and confirmation to yesterday's message.

When we see people doing evil and still progressing, our faith sometimes gets shaken. For we start to get angry against them and indirectly with the Lord. It is like telling the Lord - Are You blind? Can't You see this, yet You are not doing anything about it?

In the Bible - which is the Lord's Word, it is clearly written that the Lord is going to allow sin to progress till a time and then He will put His foot down on it.

We are again warned today against getting angry. If we look at Jesus' life here on earth, rarely He expressed His anger openly like He did driving the traders out of the Synagogue. Even then He quickly turned back to normal and did not let the anger linger long.

Anger can mislead us and land us losing more than gaining. As I was writing this and reflecting on Jesus, it suddenly struck me how this message was for me. About a month or two back my relatives requested me to come to Dubai since long I have been avoiding to do so. But this time I prayed and the Lord told me to go, for He had a work cut out for me there. I knew the work but did not understand who the recipients were but I went ahead and booked my tickets.

Just two or three days back I crashed into two sisters at a book stall and we started talking. The Lord had arranged this for they stay very far from this shop but had come to return a book which by mistake they had taken. As we were sharing the Word, one of the sisters told me her family was getting destroyed, for an evangelist from Mumbai who goes preaching in Dubai had asked her husband to leave his job and become full time preacher. Like him there were a few others also who were instructed the same.

All are invited to be disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, but all are not called to leave their jobs and be full time ministers (Paul did business of tent making while doing the Lord's work). I too work and have a family and yet the Lord does mighty things through me which many evangelists may not even dream of. I believe each one is special and has a special ministry, and we should let the Lord guide us and use us in the best way according to His plan. In the start we may join another ministry, but do not make drastic changes unto you are confirmed by the Lord.

This evangelist did this same foolishness before, misguiding people in their callings or preponing / advancing their call even before they are build strong. His lack of understanding, compromising on the Word and his moving on instincts is affecting the Kingdom of God.

I was very angry against his foolishness and in that anger my focus had changed. But this message has woken me up and made me to redirect my resources to fruitfulness.

This message may be for you too, but you need to meditate on it and ask the Lord what He is trying to tell you through this message.

[ Prayer Starter ]

Lord God, You are an ever loving and merciful God. When we go wrong You guide us and help us through your Word and your messengers. Lord, help me to control my emotions and to use them fruitfully for your Kingdom. Evil will soon have its ugly head crushed, till then help us to bring out your people from it. Help us control our anger and not cause hindrance in your work. We ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
