Why Thou makest men as the fishes of the sea?

Habakkuk 1:15 - They take up all of them with the angle [hook], they catch them in their net, and gather them in their drag: therefore they rejoice and are glad.

As we read in our previous message the Aramaic language came through the following people/kingdoms - Aram, Chaldean, Assyria and Babylon before it was used by the Jews.

The words Aram means 'exalted', Chaldean means 'cod breakers' (symbolizes people of the occult), Assyria means 'steps' (symbolizes progress or prosperity) and Babylon means 'confusion'.

As we know from Babylon came all the various so called religions. The tower of Babylon was like a temple which held all the various gods that are worshiped in different forms in all the various religions across the world.

The root of Babylon came when people wanted to exalt not God but themselves, to avoid acknowledging the true God they started believing in supernatural things and so found / made for themselves gods. They wanted to progress and prosper and this blinded their eyes and bought them to confusion. To a person with spiritual discernment this will be just plain foolishness but to them reality. Thus Babylon means all religions of this world including its head (mother) the church of Tryus which is built on the beast.

If we look at the CROSS (not crucifix but what He did) of Jesus, It is just the opposite of Babylon. The CROSS of Jesus tells us not to exalt ourselves but to humble and to exalt only the Father. It demonstrates the power of God and acknowledges Him alone as Almighty. It also tells us to overcome this world and overcome our desires of this world. It says man does not live by bread alone, so more than things of this world we should pursue Heavenly things. Lastly by the CROSS of Jesus we receive the Spirit of Truth, Who becomes our Rock and foundation. The Holy Spirit is not a spirit of confusion but of order.

In today's message we read Habakkuk in spirit is asking the Lord why He allows Babylon / Chaldeans to destroy the people of this world. She throws her net and traps the people like fishes trapped in a net. She lays bait on hooks to catch people like fishes (i.e. Steve Ray's main business is 'Holy Land' tours and thus makes people believe in things contrary to the Word; little do people know that almost 70percent of the Jerusalem during the time of Jesus is 6 to 12 feet below ground; time and again there were destructions and constructions or Jerusalem, therefore Archeologists have numbered Jerusalem according to layers).

In chapter 2 the Lord answers Habakkuk and the same was also told to Mary by the Man of God Simeon at the temple when she went to circumcise Jesus of 8 days and also offer a sacrifice for her own purification (2 turtledoves / pigeons).

Simeon foretold her that after her death (soul) her name will be misused to mislead many people and the Lord is going to allow this so as to expose their hearts. This is also the reason that her name was Mary which means 'rebellion'.

It is only because of the hardness of the hearts of people that they turn away from God. Sometimes even the sheep are misled by this lot and therefore God needs to create situations by which the internal hardness of His sheep is broken and they turn to Him.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, You are God and your wisdom is beyond understanding of man. It is only by your Spirit and your Word and that You reveal your plans. When You created this creation You already wrote its history. You gave man his salvation as a choice so that the Truth and Righteousness lives and your Holiness remain shining forever. You are Light and the darkness has no place before You. Lord, help your people to break the hardness of their hearts. Do as You will with us but do not let go of us...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[ Reference Scripture ]
Habakkuk 1:12-17
12 Are you not from everlasting, O LORD my God, my Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, you have ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, you have established them for correction.
13 You are of purer eyes than to behold evil, and can not look on iniquity: why look you on them that deal treacherously, and hold your tongue when the wicked devours the man that is more righteous than he?
14 And make men as the fishes of the sea, as the creeping things, that have no ruler over them?
15 They take up all of them with the angle, they catch them in their net, and gather them in their drag: therefore they rejoice and are glad.
16 Therefore they sacrifice to their net, and burn incense to their drag; because by them their portion is fat, and their meat plenteous.
17 Shall they therefore empty their net, and not spare continually to slay the nations?

Luke 2:21-35
21 And when eight days were fulfilled for circumcising him, his name was called JESUS, which was so called by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.
22 And when the days of their purification according to the law of Moses were fulfilled, they brought him up to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord
23 (as it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord),
24 and to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.
25 And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Spirit was upon him.
26 And it had been revealed unto him by the Holy Spirit, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ. 27 And he came in the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, that they might do concerning him after the custom of the law,
28 then he received him into his arms, and blessed God, and said,
29 Now lettest thou thy servant depart, Lord, According to thy word, in peace;
30 For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
31 Which thou hast prepared before the face of all peoples;
32 A light for revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of thy people Israel.
33 And his father and his mother were marvelling at the things which were spoken concerning him;
34 and Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the falling and the rising of many in Israel; and for a sign which is spoken against;
35 yea and a sword shall pierce through thine own soul; that thoughts out of many hearts may be revealed.
