Sons of Light - We will live because He Lives

John 12:35,36 - Jesus therefore said unto them, Yet a little while is the light among you. Walk while ye have the light, that darkness overtake you not: and he that walketh in the darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. While ye have the light, believe on the light, that ye may become sons of light. These things spake Jesus, and he departed and hid himself from them.

It is written that after Jesus spoke these words He hid himself.

We need to ask why Jesus hide Himself, was He afraid?

If one understands the words which Jesus spoke, then one would understand why Jesus hid Himself?

We will understand throughout all the Gospel Jesus never invited uncalled for or confronted trouble. Even on his unjust conviction unto death He was never afraid or tried to hide. Jesus never invited trouble but faced things according God's timing. So confronting the crowd which got mad due to hearing the truth was not required and would not glorify God.

Coming to the truth which got the people angry: Jesus said 'a little while is the Light among you', He was referring to Himself as Light. Then He said 'believe on the Light, that you may become sons of Light'.

Jesus as man called Himself our brother, but He is God who came as Savior and a Hope to mankind, believing in this hope we can now become 'sons of God'.

Today on Resurrection Sunday I would not be able to have chosen a better scripture than this. The Lord has given to us the perfect scripture (thanks be to Him).

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the manifestation of the Hope for the salvation of man. It confirms the completion of the job which Jesus came to do as a sacrificial Lamb.

In short by the Resurrection of Jesus Christ we know that tomorrow we will live because He Lives.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord Jesus, You came as man and became the way for us. By your death and Resurrection You confirmed that You have done the job and now we too can live. Lord, we pray that all your people see the Light, live in it and reflect it unto all those living around them...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
