Purity

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. - Matthew 5:8

We as believers of the true God and followers of His Son Jesus Christ receive the token of the Holy Spirit. Our body is the temple in which God dwells. When we practice impurity with sexual sins like fornication, adultery, homosexuality or any other sexual sin we sin against our own body, the temple. We cloud the temple and therefore loose the opportunity to see the Glory of God. The world tells us that most of these sins are okay, we need to grow in time and in this growth they expect us to blind our eyes or accept things which are wrong.

If you ask any person who is in this pit and an honest reply will be tell you of all the guilt and darkness in their hearts. I would like to quote a few lines from Dr. Don Gossett's book 'Purity is Power' Chapter 5:
'Frankly I've never heard one honest man or woman declare they were pleased with their infidelity. Most of them regret it deeply.
I'm persuaded the bottom line - the real reason men and women violate the standard of purity is a lack of respect for the integrity of God's Word. If one really believes and honors God's verdict that sex sins invite sure judgment of God, he or she will live in holy regard and reverence of that awesome fact.
One young man bragged to me about his repeated acts of fornication. Rather arrogantly he boasted, "I always repent of my affairs and ... good old God ... He always forgives me."
I assured the young man that was not true repentance. Repentance means "to forsake your sin", not to continue to practice it.'

Let us have true repentance by forsaking these sins which we commit against this temple - our bodies. Let's make a commitment to forsake fornication, pornography, adultery, homosexuality or any sexual sin that we are caught into. Let us experience God's light and glory in our lives, His help and mercy is surely available for us to reach out to.

[ Prayer for the Day ]

Father, forgive me for not having faith in you but things of this world. Help me to be discerning when I hear others give religious advice and claim of other gods, other powers or even deliver a message from You. Keep me both from blind rejection and servile acceptance. Grant me your Spirit to guild me and help me. This I ask in Jesus' Name. Amen.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
