God proves His Word

Acts 2:22 - Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

If we look at scripture in the Old Testament we have the Historical book like Kings, Chronicles, Joshua, Esther and Judges which are historical documents of what happened. These books confirm many prophesies given by the Prophets. Similar way throughout the Bible we see whatever is written or prophesised till date has been backed by historical proofs.

There has been ancient artefacts found way back from the times of Noah, Abraham, Joseph, Moses, David, Daniel, Jesus etc., even the not so important characters given in the Bible also have been proved existed with historical evidence.

What is interesting is unbelievable events like the flood of Noah, stopping of sun and moon by Joshua, reversing of the day by 10 degrees / 15mins by Isaiah, signs in heaven during the birth of Jesus, sudden darkness during His death on the crucifix etc. all have historical or scientific records to prove them.

The Word is so rock solid that, even the hardest atheist if goes through them will have no option but to believe. Yet we find people rejecting the Word or having shakeable faith in the Word only because they do not go through records or documentations which prove the Word of God and turn a blind eye to them.

What was very interesting which I came to know some time back was, even the parables which Jesus spoke had a historical backgrounds which were fresh in the minds of the people of that time. Jesus used examples with His teachings so as to drive the message very clearly to the people.

We see that God takes pain to confirm everything He has spoken or written. This gives us great joy for the blessings of Abraham which we have received through Jesus Christ will also be confirmed in our lives with signs and wonders for our God is a God Who proves His Word.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord God, You are God of splendour. The Heavens are awesome because your glory fills them. Things which men do are soon or latter forgotten or meet their destruction, but what You do remains and testifies for You. Lord we thank You for all the blessings You have spoken in our lives even when we were in the lions of Abraham. We know You will surely bring them to pass with signs and wonders for whole mankind to see and glorify You...

We declare this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Genesis 2:8-14
8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.
11 The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;
12 And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.
13 And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.
14 And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.

Genesis 6:13-17

14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
15 And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.
16 A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.
17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth [land] shall die.

Genesis 19:24-25

Exodus 14:26-29
26 And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.
27 And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.
28 And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.
29 But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

Joshua 10:12-14
12 Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.
13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.
14 And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel.

10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
