Get the desires of your heart

Psalms 37:3,4 - Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Again in today's message the Lord is warning us about keeping faith in Him and pursuing goodness. By this we will have peace, not only with God but also with this world. Not that this world will love us, but even if many hate us, they will still not be able to harm us. The Lord will take us through problems like Jesus, when people tried all the tricks under their shelves to get Him. If the Father does not will it; we will not be harmed in any way, by anyone in this world. We are also assured about being satisfied in all our needs.

As far as being more than satisfied and getting the desires of our heart; the scriptures say 'delight thyself also in the LORD'. The Hebrew word used for delight is 'anag' <06026> and the meaning varies according to the grammar. With Pual it means 'to delight' but with Hithpael (as used in this scripture) it means 'take exquisite delight' or 'be pampered'. Like we need to take an aggressive stand towards change and pursuing the goodness of God, similarly we also need to take extreme joy in the Lord. The joy in the Lord should not be a contented or a happy, happy feeling. The feeling should be like the one which makes us like shout on the roof top of how great the Lord is. People should feel there is something wrong with us when they see us bubbling with joy.

Putting day before yesterday's message 'This is not a suggestion or an option' (Colossians 3:1-4), yesterday's message 'God is good all the time; but not for all' (Nahum 1:7,8) and today's message together, we can get a clear idea of what the Lord is trying to tell us.

In spirit we should be very clear about the change needed in us and make the efforts towards it. If we do not pursue light or the goodness of the Lord then we will be in deep trouble. If we do it with all our hearts we will be really blessed.
