The Lord will fulfill the desire of them that fear Him

Psalm 145:18-19 - The LORD is nigh (near) unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth (faithfully). He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.

Fear of the Lord is the first this which leads to (wisdom) the knowledge and understanding of the Lord. This in turn starts to bring us to the truth. Then, all that we need to have is a desire, which the Lord will fulfill.

This desire does not basically point to a desire for worldly things. The desire is the desire to come closer to God and to work for Him. We can understand this with the example in 2 Samuel 5:6-8 when King David was entering Zion where he had an issue with the blind and lame.

Zion is the fortified city; in spiritual sense means a state of spiritual growth where in we are fully satisfied in all our needs and blessed abundantly in our being (Joel 2:23-27). The way to Zion is through Jerusalem (teaching of peace - peace with God and His people).

Why did David have an issue only with the Blind and lame and not with any other disability?

The only thing that hinders us from entering Zion is our blindness and our lameness. Blindness - our inability to see the truth. This truth starts coming unto us starting with fear of God. If we do not have the fear of God we will always be blind. God allows and some times sends problems (Joel 2:25) so that we acknowledge Him and fear Him. The Word which is light reveals the truth unto us. When we shine this light (preach), this light grows in other and also in us.

Spiritual lameness is the lack of desire in us towards God. Our body may have legs but our spirit may be lame because of our lack of desire. Since all things come from the spiritual world unto the physical world, we need to have spiritual legs and spiritual light to enter Zion and receive all things.

[ Prayer Starter ]

Father God, You are God and creator of all creation. Your Word is light unto us and your Spirit reveals it to us. Lord, increase the desire in me for things of your Kingdom and the desire to work for it. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

2 Samuel 5:6-9
5 In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.
6 And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither.
7 Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.
8 And David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind, that are hated of David's soul, he shall be chief and captain. Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.
9 So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.

Joel 2:23-27
23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
24 And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil.
25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.
26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.
27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
