Rejoice with the wife of your youth

Proverbs 5:18,19,20 - Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love. And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?

Yesterday's message was quiet difficult for me to send, for I was afraid of its repercussion and in the morning when I received this message, I just could not get to sent the mail so I put it off to send it latter in the day. I spend half the day meditating on how I should put it. But all the time was of no help, for what the Lord asks to be done needs to be done His way. It may be that yesterday's message may have got some minds to question, so the Lord gave us this message today.

If any have any wrong ideas, today's message does not encourage polygamy, nor does it support sex outside marriage including paid sex.

One needs to understand according to the Bible the main purpose of marriage and sex is to reproduce. If a married couple does not have children they are considered cursed and need to make peace with God.

I can share this firsthand experience since I was married for 6 years without a child and it was only when I reconciled Christ into my life did my wife and I got blessed with a child. My own testimony helped others to also be blessed in their marriage.

Does that mean one should not have any physical relation in marriage other than for reproduction?

The other reason which the Bible says one should get married is when one is weak in the flesh. God allows sexual relation in marriage so as to give time for man to overcome his or her lust of the flesh. Therefore Paul writes about the attitude one should have concerning each other in marriage with regards to sex. Also one would understand that Paul also writes that if a person who has dedicated his or her life to the Lord and has the grace to overcome one's lustful desire should not get married. But cautions it would be worst if the person does not get married and struggles a lot to overcome their lust.

One would realize this when one understands one of the statutes which the Lord gave through Moses was, when a couple get married they were recommended to have a long honeymoon for 1 whole year. This long honeymoon was so that they get over their fleshy desires and get on to the real purpose of marriage. That's the reason today's scripture says 'rejoice with the wife of thy youth'. A youth is a maturing person and person struggling against lust is considered not a mature person in God's Kingdom.

Deuteronomy 24:5
5 When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken.

1 Corinthians 7:1-9
1 Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
3 Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
4 The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
5 Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.
6 But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment.
7 For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that.
8 I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I.
9 But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.

1 Corinthians 7:33-38
33 But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife.
34 There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.
35 And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.
36 But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of her age, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sinneth not: let them marry.
37 Nevertheless he that standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity, but hath power over his own will, and hath so decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin, doeth well.
38 So then he that giveth her in marriage doeth well; but he that giveth her not in marriage doeth better.
