Simple minds and lost minds

John 16:29,30 - His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb. Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.

Many a time I have had problems teaching some people the knowledge of the Word of God because they have this one thinking in their mind - the Bible is simple and make for simple people to understand; why would God give instructions in a complicated way which man will not understand?

In today's scripture it is very clear Jesus spoke many a times in such a way that people could not grasp what He was telling. Why did Jesus speak in such a way that people do not understand?

Firstly understand this we are judged not according to the Word of God but according to our understanding of the Word of God. If we know 5 things then we will be judged according to those 5 things. If we know 50,000 things then we will be judged according to those 50,000 things.

Does that mean we will be judged less if refrain from studying the Word?

Understand this, the fact that we know that the Word of God has instructions to our salvation and we refrain from reading, studying and applying it, indirectly we are not importance to our salvation. If we get it, good if not, it is okay. With that attitude do you think we deserve it? We bring ourselves into judgment by doing so.

The Word of God is written such a manner that unless the Lord reveals, a person will never understand. This is also the reason why Jesus spoke in simple words only with His disciples, but not when with the public or especially the Pharisees. Minds which do not give importance will never understand and know what flew over their heads and minds which think they know will try all the tricks in the world to contradict and debate it. For one things is very clear we cannot understand the Kingdom of God unless the grace of God is on us and the Spirit of God reveals it.

Only foolish minds think that one can distort the Word of God or come with another doctrine and get away with it.

The Word of God is airtight packed with in-build counterchecks by which any person distorting it or playing with it can be easily caught. If any understanding contradicts even one scripture then that understanding is contrary to the Truth, so to find a lie we need to simply find a scripture from the (whole) Bible which does not go alone with that teaching.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, your Word says your people suffer because they lack your Knowledge. It is not that your knowledge is not available to all, like your Gospel is available for all but only those who are your children will receive it and those who are not will reject it. In the same way your knowledge is loved and thirsted by your Sons and those who are not will not crave it or thirst for it. Lord, we pray for your grace and out pouring of your Spirit on your people so that more and more come into the light of your Truth...

We make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.
