Does God talk to you?

Joel 2:27 - And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.


In the start when I came into contact with evangelist and people of God, I would wonder as to how God would talk to them or revealed things to them. There were questions like; could they see God, or do they hear a voice like a human voice?

As I got born-again in the Lord I realized that the Lord was talking also to me through dreams. But it was dreams before I was born-again that were of great concern to me. I used to get very bad dreams and many a times did not sleep through the night. There were times when things got out of hand like once I remember I was on the verge of jumping off my window (from the 3rd floor) because of a bad dream. It was God's grace that saved me, because my wife who was sleeping between me and the window (the window was next to your bed) woke me up.

After my coming in the Lord these very means by which Satan tried to destroy me became my strength. Today if I am meditating on any scripture or studying (writing) on a topic which I know not, the Lord explains them to me through visions like He did to Daniel. Also, whenever there are any issues concerning me, my family or people connected to me (by relation or in God's work) I get messages or warnings way before hand like Joseph (OT and NT) did. Therefore you will find me most relaxed for I know my God is there and will take care of all things before hand.

Now that does not mean all dreams are from God. The Bible does say dreams can come from other reasons too, but when one studies God's Word and has the Spirit to discern would know which are from God and which are not. God has a style and deliver mechanism which He has disclosed through examples in His Word. He gives a confirmation in-build in the vision. It did not happen in a day I learnt to discern them; I took almost a year to understand which were from God and which were not.

I am not sharing this to boast about me and my relationship with my Lord, but to tell you that this can and will happen also to you. In the start the so called people of God would laugh at me when I would share my dreams with them, but when they started to manifest (even things concerning them) they would get scared to even pick up my calls. They could see God's glorious hand in my life and could not explain it.

This very thing God commits would happen with many who believe in Him. You should make a prayer like I made when I came to know God. My prayer was asking the Lord to use me for His Kingdom and His Glory. I just surrendered my life to Him to be a vessel to bring many unto Him. Make this your priority number one and all else He takes care of. In your every step He will be there for you.

It is not only in dreams that Lord speaks, He also speaks in audible voices or often gives strong thoughts. These, one needs to discern with His Word. His Word is to build and not destroy, so also all His messages will not harm a person but build with His nature like love, compassion, patience and righteousness.

Open the doors for the Lord to be your shepherd and strength by surrendering to Him and His purpose. Let the world see the glory and favor of God on your life.

Lord God, we need more and more of your soldiers on earth. Lord we life our hands up to You and prayer as You have spoken in your Word pour out your Spirit in abundance on your people, even those who are yet not free that they may know You and give glory unto You. May your people be seen not as orphans without a Father or be lost with other gods made by man...

We make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Matthew 2:7-15

15 And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.

Numbers 12:6-8
6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet (Nabi - means Man of God) among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.
8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

Jobs 33:14-18
14 For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.
15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;
16 Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,
17 That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.
18 He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.

Daniel 1:17
17 As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

1 Samuel 28:5-6
5 And when Saul saw the host of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart greatly trembled.
6 And when Saul enquired of the LORD, the LORD answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.

Ecclesiastes 5:3,7
3 For a dream cometh through the multitude of business (when one is worried); and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words.
7 For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God.

Deuteronomy 13:1-3
1 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

Jeremiah 29:8-9
8 For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.
9 For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the LORD.

Lamentations 2:14
14 Your prophets have seen for you false and deceptive visions; they have not exposed your iniquity to restore your fortunes, but have seen for you oracles false and misleading.

Matthew 10:27
27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others. (All rights are with God)
