PREACH so that people may know God

2 Kings 4:22,23 - And she called unto her husband, and said, Send me, I pray thee, one of the young men, and one of the asses, that I may run to the man of God, and come again. And he said, Wherefore wilt thou go to him to day? it is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, It shall be well.


In today' world the Lord is telling us we may think we have many great Men and Women of God among us, we may find them leading large gatherings and having great congregation but the Truth is a very sad situation. And in today's message the Lord is bringing us to realize this.

The Shunammite woman is shown here to have great faith. Even when her son died she was not shaken. She knew that the Man of God Elisha was able to help her and bring her son back to life. But what is very important to understand is that she did not believe in the God of Elisha nor knew Him. Even though Elisha would pass her place regularly and she knew of the great miracles Elisha performed she not once tried to have a relationship with or know the God of Elisha. But she did do great efforts to be in good books with the man who did the wonders.

If one understands the desperation of Elisha when one understands the reason why Elisha laid himself over the child placing his eyes over the child eyes, his mouth over the child's mouth and same with his arm. When Elisha laid himself part over part of the child he was telling God 'take my life but give life unto this body'. One will know the depth of desperation of Elisha from the scriptures. This was not the first time Elisha did this; he had done the same before with the widow's son and is recorded in 1 Kings 17.

Most of the so called Men of God operate more on gifts. They fail to bring people to give glory to the Lord and thus land up receiving the glory themselves.

There are times when I go to unbelievers' aid to minister to their sick and when they see that healings happened through me they start to think I am a Baba (a man with mystical powers). Even when I tell them about God they do not give ears to it but are more focused on the healings and miracles. It is only when I tell them to take the Word and do the miracle themselves I have seen great response from them. Then it is not I who is glorified but the Lord Who gets glorified.

We need to be more PREACHING Christians than just teaching Christians. To PREACH means to deliver the tEACHing with PRactise. The Greek word 'kerusso' means 'to proclaim after the manner of a herald' meaning to proclaim it with authority. It means for example instead of just teaching people faith we need to teach them how when we believe in the Word how it does healings and miracles. We need to show the authority in which we speak. We need to get people to lay hands on the sick, take the promise in their mouths, believe and see the miracle happen. We need to start taking people to have direct connection with the Lord, experience His Power and stop always being the go in-between for them.

It gives great joy to see leaders being true leaders, making leaders of the people put under them and not keeping them oppressed under them for their own benefit. The Church of God lacks good Captains and today's message tells us what we need to do to make Captains for the Lord's army.

Lord, there are many who talk about You and do miracles in your name. But there are very few who preach You and glorify your Name. People need to know You are the source of all things and they need to connect to You to experience your Power. Lord, we pray for more preaching Christians; Christians who demonstrate your Word with action...
