Worship the Lord thy God alone

Matthew 4:10 - Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Satan tempted Jesus when He was in his weakest moments with the pleasures of this world, provided He worshipped him. But Jesus knew that bowing to or worshiping is not to be done to any one other than God, therefore Jesus quoted the first Commandment.

But what did man do when he was put to the test. Man first modified the Commandments of God by deleting the second commandment and splitting the last into two. This way Satan made man worship him indirectly by breaking God’s Commandment. Man started making images and statues of other humans to worship them.

Like Jesus when He was man stood by the Word and Satan fled from Him, so also let us stand by the Word and Satan will surely flee from us and we too will have the Angels ministering unto us.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord God, You alone are God and due worship and praise. Lord, forgive us in our ignorance and by the ignorance by the people who taught us we worshiped others thinking we were standing by your Word. Strengthen us to say No to Satan so that he flees from us. We also prayer for your abundant grace on those who still are deceived by Satan...

We make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
