Our journey of grace starts with hope
Colossians 1:5,6 -
For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:
Bible says we receive the grace of God through our faith in Jesus Christ. It says grace and truth came through Jesus Christ even though the Word of God was given to us long before the Lord came as man Jesus. What it meant was through Jesus truth was revealed. Before Jesus man did not understand the Word of God thus was far from the Truth. Through the teachings of Jesus we come to know the true understanding of the Word. It was through Jesus we received the Spirit of Truth and it is the Spirit of Truth Who reveals the Word for us.
Faith means believing the Truth (which does not change) and without knowing the Truth we cannot have faith. That is why faith really started to grow only with the coming of Jesus.
Faith has 5 stages and these we understand through the appropriate Greek words used in the Bible. It starts with hope and finishes with authority.
Elpis - to hope in, trust
Elpizo - trust
Oligopistos - little faith
Pistis - faith
Exousia - authority
The seed of faith is hope and finished faith is authority. Jesus came to make us Son/Princes of God - Israel which means a person having authority in the Name of the Lord.
Today's message tells us that through the manifestation through Jesus Christ of the Word that existed from the beginning we received the Good News and thus hope came in us and as we come to know more of the truth our faith increases and so receive more and more grace.

Lord, we thank You for your Word which bought forth life and which sustains us and helps us to be perfect. We thank You for coming as man and manifesting this Word which was hidden from man.
