Your mouth can undo the works of your hands

Ecclesiastes 5:6 - Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?

There was this family where one of the elders of the family did real hard work to look after the others in the family. She really put a lot of efforts and sacrifice to see all things were done proper in the house with food, clothing, etc... But because of the contentious attitude of that person, her not only undid her efforts but she also made the others in the family sad by her words. She just could not control her mouth; she may have not meant it by heart, but did that matter?

We may do a lot of good work and may mean good to others in heart but our words matters. Also what we have spoken to any person or to the Lord as commitment, we have to stand by it. We may have overdone it in our speaking, but our efforts towards it matters. It will all be taken into account on the auditing day. Therefore it is better not to speak then to regret it after speaking.

Like I wrote in my previous mails, every word from our mouth gets recorded and on the Day of Judgment we will have to give an account for them.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord God, forgive me for the times my mouth over-spoke my works and my efforts. Forgive me for not keeping up to my commitments. Lord, give me the grace to control my mouth and thus keep myself from sinning. I make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
