God is good

Nahum 1:7 - The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust <0982> in him.


The previous scripture Nahum 1:6 talks about a furious God, but Nahum 1:7 talks about a God who is good.

The difference is the two Gods is for us to decide whom we want to see. The decision is made by our relationship of trust with Him.

There are many words 'trust' in Hebrew; a few of them are listed below. The word used here in this scripture 'batach' means more of to take refuge in the Lord, like a baby in the womb of its mother.

The best book in the Bible to learn the difference variations and true meanings of words like trust, blessings etc. is the book of Job. For example in Job the word 'bless' is also translated as 'curse' in one scripture.

Coming back to today's message, the Lord knows how difficult it is for man in flesh to trust Him. Therefore the condition required of us in the scripture is not too demanding, and this is put by the grammar of the word (Qal, Participle Active).

The Lord asks of us to put as much trust as we can in the physical but in spirit it should be unbroken continuity. Just to give you a testimony of what happened with me just a day back.

On Saturday after I sent my mail and was off to work, my daughter (3 years old) came to me and said 'dada I am feeling cold what should I do?'. I checked her body for temperature and found her okay therefore ignored the matter and left to work.

After a few hours at work my wife called me and informed me that our daughter was running high temperature. She gave her medicine and she was okay, and also I reach back from work early. We showed her to the doc and he warned us the temperature may come back and shoot up.

In the night as we sat to pray together, I made my daughter take a message. The message was very clear that she would be just fine, and we were very happy and jumping with joy. For every time we got a clear message we have seen the effect of it immediately. My daughter was also rejoicing and we went to sleep peacefully. Suddenly in the middle of the night my wife woke me up because my daughter had high temperature. We gave her medicine and even had to put wet cold cloth on her forehead to bring the temperature down (this was the first time we needed to do this). After some time she was okay; but I was not.

I was very down inside of me; it just did not get to me as to why this happened. Every time the Lord spoke, I have seen immediate effects of it. But this time, why did it not happen the same? I was just not settled inside with this and thus I could not sit even to send a mail yesterday.

But latter the whole day my daughter had no temperature and in the evening she was more than active. She was hunger and eating very well; even better than normal. The joy in me again filled its brims. The Lord taught me to trust.

When we put our unshakeable faith in the Lord and hold on to Him unceasingly, He will surely not disappoint us. He is true to His Word and loves His own dearly.

So my dear brothers and sisters in the Lord, just to not take your problems for granted in spirit. If the Lord is said it will go, it has to go without doubt. Even if it takes time in physical to manifest do not settle down with your problem. In the Lord's house, problems have no place. In spirit just hold the problem by its collar and push it out of your life. In physical it may talk some time but in spirit just do not let time work its way in. If the Lord said it, it has to happen NOW and NOW means NOW, nothing doing IT IS NOW.

Father God, You are an awesome God and You love your people very much. A times You test them so as to see they have developed fruit in them. Father be merciful to us and do not put us to the test. But help us to always trust in You and not be separated from our blessings which You have bestowed on us through Jesus Christ...
