Eat the contents of the vessel and not the vessel

Proverbs 1:1-4
1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;
2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;
3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

4 To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

We see many people leave Church because they see the man in the Pastor or the Man of God and then there are others who stick to a congregation because the leader is good in sense friendly and helpful. He or she is always smiling and greeting people anywhere he or she meets them. Any problem he or she will not fail to show up. But then this person does not correct people when they make mistakes, this person does not make any change to the spiritual lives of the people, every service his or her preaching makes them feel good, it tells them all is well, God is good and He understands them and their weakness, and loves them as they are.

Bible says an enemy is better than a foolish friend. Knowing that person is an enemy we keep a watch out on them and their doing but when we think that person is a friend we stop discerning them and start to trust them even in little things, and if that person is a foolish person we will find it too late when they do an insane thing and drag us in it.

People talk of the wisdom of Solomon, ask anyone who is the wisest person in history and surely many will point to Solomon. But very, very few look at the most foolish things this great wise man did, he made friends with foolish people (his unbelieving wives) and due to his love for them he was blind to what they did and like them he too worshipped idols - false gods.

We are people of light and light exposes everything so also we should discern all things according to the Kingdom of God and the Word of God. People thing this is judging and be blind like Solomon and fall in pits. People will quote Paul and Jesus about not judging yet you will find both did judge many. What they did not judge was the consequence of their actions but they did judge their actions.

The Bible tells us not to judge the consequence of people, will they go to hell or Heaven, Jesus Himself said He would come again to do that and when we do that we put ourselves in Jesus' place and deny the need of Christ therefore are judged for doing that. But that does not mean we should tolerate, accept everything others do and not correct another person. We are called as Christians to judge / discern every word and action and most of all the intensions of other people not putting our guard down for anyone not even our spiritual guides/fathers. We are called to discern everything not according to our worldly thinking but according to the Word of God.

We are called to be children on light and children of light do not walk with their eyes closed like those in darkness. That we grow in wisdom and spiritual maturity, eating strong meat by growing in discernment.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, the people are more in flesh than of spirit. They walk according to the flesh and change not something they desire. You are perfect therefore never change, but even though You do not change yet your glory keeps growing day by day. You are God that desire progress and therefore all your plans are for the prosperity of man. Lord we pray that we do not behave like children of darkness when we have seen your light and experienced it in our lives. Lord we pray we walk with our eyes open discerning all things, growing in wisdom and understanding...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.
