Seek while the Lord is near

Isaiah 55:6 - Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

In Isaiah 55:6 it is written 'call you upon Him while He is near'. Does it mean that the Lord can go far away from us? We need to understand this truth - the Lord is holy and since sin is there in us we can not come in the presence of the Lord. It is the only by the mercy of God that we get a window to come to Him. It is by our repentance and change that we can use this window.

In the days before Christ the window was very, very narrow. It was by Christ that the window has been made into a very broad door. It does not mean that we already got a green ticket to Heaven. It only means - what was impossible before has now been made easy in Christ, yet we need to seek the Lord. Before Christ it was very difficult to seek the Lord, but now we have an example in Jesus Christ whom we can imitate. His death and resurrection has confirmed the door to Heaven has been made open for us. We do not have to wait till our death and Judgment day to walk through that door. We can, living in this world experience the glory of the Kingdom of God now, only if we seek Him.

But also today, if we reject Christ we close the door and land up with no possibility to enter the Heavens.

[ Prayer Starter ]

Lord Jesus, we thank You for the abundant mercy You have made available to us by your coming as man and by your sacrifice. As it is written that when we believe in You, we tap into that sea of mercy and thereby get the opportunity to come to the Father. Lord, help me to use this opportunity to the maximum and reap its goodness even today. I ask this in Your mighty Name, Amen.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
