Do you know why you are not receiving?

Romans 12:13 - Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

Most of us lack because we do not give. When I talk about giving I do not mean going out of our way and giving, I mean keeping what does not belong to us.

There is a scripture Matthew 23:9 wherein Jesus says "call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven". This does not mean you start to disown your own earthly father. The Greek word used here is 'pater' which is a metaphor used for 'provider'. No parent can claim that they are the providers to their family; they are just means through whom the Lord provides.

Of all, what the Lord provides He asks us to give a 'tithe' (in Hebrew means 'a tenth' - ten percent) to Him. Not giving Him back means robbing God (Malachi 3:8). Tithe is not limited to just your income, we are also suppose to tithe in time and prayers. Most people do not get time to enjoy life because they do not tithe their time for the Lord, so also is the same with prayers.

Tithing should be done according to instructions of the Lord giving almost half to the Church (half of it towards evangelization and half to congregation / institute) and the other half towards society - widows, needy, orphans etc...

Tithing is not a commandment if you do not do it, you become a sinner. Tithing is a statute which the Lord asks us to do, to teach us righteousness. If we do not do it we do receive our blessings. For the blessings of Abraham are for the children of Abraham, that follow righteousness. But if the Lord (Holy Spirit) has put in your heart a certain amount or thing (could be even time or prayer) to give to someone then it is no longer a statute it has now become a commandment which you need to keep.

Do not loose your blessing by not tithing; tithe.

Tithe is not just connected with the Old Testament even in the New Testament it is there (in fact with penalties harsher then old).

[ Prayer Starter ]

Father God, forgive me for not giving to You which is yours. Help me and lead me Lord to tithe the way You want me to, so that your hand is always there over me and I am always blessed, lacking nothing. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Malachi 3:8-9
8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.

Matthew 5:17-18
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

John 1:17
17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
