Book of Samuel or of David

2 Samuel 1:1 - Now it came to pass after the death of Saul, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Amalekites, and David had abode two days in Ziklag;

The book Samuel is broken into 2 parts but according to the Jews is considered to a single book. One may wonder what difference it makes if it is one or two books?

It is when we understand the perspective in which they see this book then we understand the problem with the Jews and the reason why they also got angry with Stephen and stoned him to death.

In the Aramaic version of this book it is not called the book of Samuel but called the book of David. Some among them believe it was David who wrote this book and not Samuel. Historic records show Samuel may not have been directly involved but he was surely indirectly involved with this book, and not only with this book but even many other books.

Samuel was the first to start a school for Men of God (School of Prophets) and it was this school which was instrument in collecting and maintaining the older books and also recording the events connected to Samuel and David.

What has all this knowledge to do with today's message the Lord wants to give us?

In today's message the Lord wants us to open our eyes to idolatry in the Church. The Church has been broken into 2 phases; the Church before Christ which actually started from Noah, for the first Covenant was made with him. But the Church received body later for instructions to the working or constituting of the congregation members were given through Abraham (circumcision).

When Stephen rebuked the Jews he stated they carried the Moloch and the star of their god Remphan (he was quoting Amos). But when we read the Bible we see Moloch recorded only in Amos and in Acts for although it was a god of the Ammonites, we do not read about the idol being physically carried by the Israelite. The Lord spoke through Amos and Stephen concerning Israel not carrying the physical idols but the spiritual idols. The word Moloch means 'my king'.

When we see the Jews accused Stephen blaspheming God they condemned him for stating that they were worshiping man over God. And we see the accusation put against Stephen was that he spoke blasphemous words against Moses and against God. They confirmed in their accusation when they put Moses before God. Second blasphemy is only against God and cannot be against a man. Stephen later goes on to show them after Moses became their Moloch they had another Moloch and that was David. Even today these 2 idols are worshipped by the Jews over Yahweh.

Later when the Nicolaitan principle infected the Church of Christ these gods came back into the church. Nicolas was a deacon who was a pagan worshiper before and later becoming a Jew also embraced Christianity. He was a Constantine of that era. He induced the teachings and practices of the pagans into Christianity and caused corruption into the church. This corruption crossed limits in 300AD with the formation of the Roman Catholic Church. The hierarchy structure followed in the church of a person being head is a Nicolatian practise. The Apostles did not have a single person heading the Church but had a fellowship leading the Church.

Satan tempted Adam and Eve and used the same 3 temptations with Jesus only with higher stakes; we see the tricks that Satan played with the earlier church are also the same he played with the later church. He uses the same methods but only changes the packaging and level of deceit.

Today this church has made the Pope their Moloch. Whatever their Moloch says overrules God and the Word of God, for them he is a god in the flesh. They also have a dead god (goddess) who is their Rempham or pillar of faith.

The Lord is telling us to be-aware of the ways of Satan and his deceits so that we are not consumed by vanity.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, we pray your people discern the ways of Satan and separate themselves from his ways, that they castaway the idols that they have put into their lives, that they put aside the Moloch and Remphan. We pray that they have no other God other than You...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[ Reference Scriptures ]
Acts 6:9-12
9 Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen.
10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spoke.
11 Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against God.
12 And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came on him, and caught him, and brought him to the council,

Acts 7:42-43
42 Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O you house of Israel, have you offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness?
43 Yes, you took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which you made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.

Amos 5:26 - But you have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun [image / pillar] your images, the star of your god, which you made to yourselves.

Acts 7:43 - Yes, you took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan [without life], figures which you made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.

Ezekiel 16:44-58
44 Behold, every one that uses proverbs shall use this proverb against you, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.
45 You are your mother's daughter, that lothes her husband and her children; and you are the sister of your sisters, which loathed their husbands and their children: your mother was an Hittite, and your father an Amorite.
46 And your elder sister is Samaria, she and her daughters that dwell at your left hand: and your younger sister, that dwells at your right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.
47 Yet have you not walked after their ways, nor done after their abominations: but, as if that were a very little thing, you were corrupted more than they in all your ways.
48 As I live, said the Lord GOD, Sodom your sister has not done, she nor her daughters, as you have done, you and your daughters.
49 Behold, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom, pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
50 And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.
51 Neither has Samaria committed half of your sins; but you have multiplied your abominations more than they, and have justified your sisters in all your abominations which you have done.
52 You also, which have judged your sisters, bear your own shame for your sins that you have committed more abominable than they: they are more righteous than you: yes, be you confounded also, and bear your shame, in that you have justified your sisters.
53 When I shall bring again their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, then will I bring again the captivity of your captives in the middle of them:
54 That you may bear your own shame, and may be confounded in all that you have done, in that you are a comfort to them.
55 When your sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, then you and your daughters shall return to your former estate.
56 For your sister Sodom was not mentioned by your mouth in the day of your pride,
57 Before your wickedness was discovered, as at the time of your reproach of the daughters of Syria, and all that are round about her, the daughters of the Philistines, which despise you round about.
58 You have borne your lewdness and your abominations, said the LORD.

Galatians 2:9 - And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given to me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go to the heathen, and they to the circumcision.
