Why are we troubled and have doubts?

Luke 24: 38 - And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?

If you read a few lines before today's scripture after Jesus appeared He was walk in the wilderness and started conversation with two other persons who were walking towards Emmaus (the Greek word means 'hot baths/spring' and the Hebrew word originates comes from the word 'day') which was 7.5 miles or 12kms from Jerusalem towards Galilee. These two have a close and special encounter with Jesus, for Jesus in His conversation with them explains to them things which He had not yet done to even His own disciples (about Him in the books of Moses).

These two among whom one was Cleopas, went back to Jerusalem and met the eleven disciples. You will notice in Mark they were told to go towards Galilee to meet Jesus but yet they did not obey and were still in Jerusalem.

After Jesus finished His journey He appears unto them (the eleven and two) in Jerusalem and all still had doubts seeing Him. Jesus shows them His wounds and asks them to touch it. It is not that they had a problem to identify Jesus but the problem was that they could not believe Jesus had risen and was in the flesh therefore Jesus goes to the extent of asking for food and eats with them, doing a physical bodily activity.

The Apostles knew that after death a person becomes a spirit being but they did not understand the powers of a spirit being and could digest the fact that Jesus could take a physical form after He had risen.

If you are into molecular physics and get deep into the molecular structure you will realize all matter ultimately is made of energy almost nothing. This will make a person realize that this physical world is not as real as people believe. We need to get into us that the real world is the spirit world and this physical world is temporary and more like a hologram. We live in a world that is relative; the 4 direction (NSEW) and 4 dimensions (height, width, depth and time) all are relative in nature in a universe which is suspended in nowhere, created by the breath of God. Even life is formed by the Word of God (DNA is like a language and man is the only unique being having 23 chromosomes, study this with the Word of God and your mind will be blown understanding how God operates and what really life is).

Our mind is trained from the beginning believing on our 5 senses and anything else does not get digested by our mind. The inputs to our inner man (our real us) comes so much from our bodily 5 senses that we rarely tune to the inputs which come from our spirit being which is of the real world. When you understand this then you will realize why Adam and Eve felt naked when sin came into them.

What we know of the Kingdom of God till date is not even a fraction and that is why we doubt. We humans from childhood are so much into this world that we measure the Kingdom of God also by human measures.

To understand the Kingdom of God we will need to empty our human mind and understanding, that is the reason in the sacrifices given to Moses yeast was not allowed in any except very little in one particular sacrifice. That too this sacrifice was not consumed by man but by fire to be a burnt sacrifice.

What we know as science simply means understanding this creation which God has made and since we have not understood it fully science is limited. With limited knowledge we are surely going to be distorted in our understanding. On the other hand the Word of God is complete, unshakable and true. It is truer than this world is.

The more worldly knowledge one has it becomes more difficult for that person to understand the Kingdom of God. Worldly knowledge is not bad and is necessary for us to dwell among man but when it comes to God we should not let take the top place.

Use not our knowledge to understand God and His Kingdom but let Him give us the understanding of who we really are.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, You created this wonderful world but sin and the knowledge of good and bad polluted it and distorted the Truth. Lord, You in your mercies gave us your Word which is Truth and by which we can come out of this distorted world and come into understanding of the true world which is your Kingdom. Lord, help us overcome our minds and our understanding and come into your Truth...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.
7 But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.

33 And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,
34 Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.
35 And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.
36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.
41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?
42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
43 And he took it, and did eat before them.

16 Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD.
17 Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD.
18 And ye shall offer with the bread seven lambs without blemish of the first year, and one young bullock, and two rams: they shall be for a burnt offering unto the LORD, with their meat offering, and their drink offerings, even an offering made by fire, of sweet savour unto the LORD.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
