Our Hell here

Lamentations 3:6 - He has set me in dark places Like the dead of long ago.

I always remember when I was in my previous spiritual stage at its peak; the Lord interacted with me on a day to day basis. Any issue, any situation at hand the Lord used to instruct me and it was just awesome. I was on fire and nothing could hold me back, scare me or put me off.

Gradually as the Lord started opening my mind to His Word and I came to know more of the Truth, the Spirit of the Lord took a step behind. He having given me the ability and power by His Word now wanting to see me grow in it, so the spoon feeding as stopped. Now, sometimes things do not turn up as expected and afterwards I realize I did certain things not the right way and start to correct myself.

Even in these time the Spirit of God and His light bursts like that of a sudden sprouts of underground spring.

But there also are times when nothing is happening and I see no door open, it is a time I most regret. These are times when knowing what is wrong I still do not repent from continuing. This cause an darkness to gloom into my life, a darkness like no one exist and nothing matters and things times I tend to cut off from the world around. I do not even pick up phone calls of anointed men and women of God. But by God’s grace theses times are very short.

This is not my state alone, I am sure this is the state of each and every person in the Lord.

Jeremiah in today's message compares these times like in Hell. Hell, unlike children are told is not a place where Satan rules or a burning pit. The Bible tells us clearly it is a prison, a place far from the light of God. In this place the sins within us burn like an endless fire. In some places these sins within us are also compared to never dying worms.

We can be experiencing hell like experiences right here on earth when we stop our day to day interaction with the Lord, or when we choose or dwell on things which are against the Kingdom of God. The guilt in us burns inside us like endless fire or like worms eating into us. At these times we feel God is against us for everything works against us.

To get out of this earthly hell like situations, we need to reject things which we are holding to and which are not of the Kingdom of God. It may be an object, a habit, a feeling, a desire, a deed or anything that keeps us far from the Light of God.

We may not be fully successful at the first attempt but as spiritual warriors of the Kingdom of God, we are not to give up but keep fighting. The battle may be ours but the victory is already written by the Lord as accomplished. To get to this victory we need to just be in Him.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, we thank You for having overcome at things of darkness for us. You have already set the victory for us when we abide by You and walk according to your instructions. Lord, our spirit desires You, our understanding also knows there is no hope or happiness in anything of this world or the world far from your light, yet our flesh being weak pulls us into these pleasures of vanity and self-destruction. Lord, help us, hold our hands and like You did to Simon Peter when he was drowning, You made him again walk on the water, You hold our hands and help us walk on our waters. We know You will surely accomplice your plan in us and bring us unto glory in You...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Lamentations 3:1-15
1 I am the man who has seen affliction by the rod of His wrath.
2 He has led me and made me walk In darkness and not in light.
3 Surely He has turned His hand against me Time and time again throughout the day.
4 He has aged my flesh and my skin, And broken my bones.
5 He has besieged me And surrounded me with bitterness and woe.
6 He has set me in dark places Like the dead of long ago.
7 He has hedged me in so that I cannot get out; He has made my chain heavy.
8 Even when I cry and shout, He shuts out my prayer.
9 He has blocked my ways with hewn stone; He has made my paths crooked.
10 He has been to me a bear lying in wait, Like a lion in ambush.
11 He has turned aside my ways and torn me in pieces; He has made me desolate.
12 He has bent His bow And set me up as a target for the arrow.
13 He has caused the arrows of His quiver To pierce my loins.
14 I have become the ridicule of all my people-Their taunting song all the day.
15 He has filled me with bitterness, He has made me drink wormwood.

Matthew 14:25-32
25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.
27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.

1 Peter 3:18-20
18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
