Respect the aged

Dishonour not a man in his old age: for even some of us wax old. - Sirach 8:6 [ KJV Apocrypha]

Elderly people in the Bible are always looked up with respect. Even if they may be mentally or spiritually lacking, we are to respect them. We may not agree to all that they tell us, but as a mark of respect we need to give them a hearing. Even if we are right and they are wrong, our 'NO' can be said in ways that will not hurt them, when we add love to it. Especially since very old and not so spiritually grown people tend to act as children.
Remember that we too will one day grow old and at that time how we would like other to treat us; we need to treat them in the same manner.

[ Prayer Starter ]

Lord, I am sorry for the times I have been disrespectful towards my elders. Show me the way to treat them with love, that in my old age I too may find love with others. I make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
