Keep alert and pray for your escape

Luke 21: 36 - Watch you therefore, and pray always that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Everyone who has read the Bible knows in their heart that the time on hand is a tough times. People know that disasters, problems, calamities and difficult moments will look down on the people of this and immediate generations.

One thing understand, God's Word (promises) are true always so it does not mean people who are truly in the Lord will also suffer. Like the Lord took Elijah into a brook and provided for him even when disaster surrounded him, the Lord will do the same to his people who abide by Him.

There are people who make prayers like 'Lord, take away famine, earthquakes, terrorism etc. away from this world, let there be peace in this world'. Even if a person fasts and prayers not only 40days but even 40years this prayer will not be answered. What is written in the Word of God cannot be change and the Lord Himself will do that. The only thing which can happen is it can be postponed or pre-pone / advance it, or change its duration like shorten it or elongate it. But canceling it is not possible.

In today's message the Lord is asking us to be aware of the time ahead and pray that is passes quickly, because if it elongates those who are faint in heart or young in spirit will be crushed by it and get destroyed.

Like the people of Jerusalem and Judea were given hints about the disaster which was to come on them in 70AD as to when to escape and where to escape, so also the Bible instructs us as what to do and when to do during these difficult moments. If we abide by it then we too will escape like the citizens on Jerusalem did in 70AD.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, You gave us the Word to build us and save us from the disasters set forth due to sin and darkness. You are light and darkness cannot stand before You. Like You shook the earth during the times of Noah, You will shake once again not only this creation but also the Heavens. You have plans of a new creation full of light with no existence of darkness. Lord we thank You for the invitation for being a part of this creation. Help us Lord to survive this world and to sleep in You abiding by your will...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[ Reference Scripture ]
1 Kings 16:1-5
1 And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.
2 And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,
3 Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
4 And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.
5 So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

Lamentations 2:19-22
19 Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street.
20 Behold, O LORD, and consider to whom thou hast done this. Shall the women eat their fruit, and children of a span long? shall the priest and the prophet be slain in the sanctuary of the Lord?
21 The young and the old lie on the ground in the streets: my virgins and my young men are fallen by the sword; thou hast slain them in the day of thine anger; thou hast killed, and not pitied.
22 Thou hast called as in a solemn day my terrors round about, so that in the day of the LORD’S anger none escaped nor remained: those that I have swaddled and brought up hath mine enemy consumed.

Mathew 24:15-22
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
