The Lord is our protector and He does not slumber

Psalms 121:1-8
1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

To my mail dated 13th Jan 2010 a few persons responded saying if we do not suffer then we are not Christians.

My mail specifically stated problems and not persecution. Persecution that also because of preaching the Gospel and standing as a Christian is what the Bible talks about which we will face. But problems like falling sick because of preaching the Gospel or falling and hurting one's self, is not what the Bible talks about. This happens for example when a person is being a wrong example or when the Lord is working on the weak areas of that person.

Since we are all weak we go through problems but if we realize they are not part of the package we will pursue being that perfect Jesus who did not have problems. Even when persecution comes the Lord takes us on His eagle wings and by His grace we are not effected much by the persecutions. Not all are called to be martyrs; all are called to receive life (Christ) and life in its fullness.

There are only one type of people who go through or experience problems so that the Lord can teach His people and they are those who are called to be Teachers (even Apostles do experience this to some extend but it is more for internal character building unlike in Teachers who experience it even for others sake). If you do have that calling in your life then only you can possibly justify some problems, it was for this reason James (not the Apostle James but James who was the brother of Jesus) warned about this calling.

In today's message the Lord again is affirming that He is our protector and He does not sleep. If we are His people who pursue righteousness, then neither Satan can destroy us or even the Lord's anger itself. Our going and coming is all watched under the Eyes of the Lord (Angels of the Lord), the Lord has set His Angels to guard us (that does not means we pray to them).

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, we thank You for reminding and confirming to us that You alone are our protector and protect us from all dangers, even from your own anger. You are the keeper of our souls for You do not want to see your people perish. Since You want to see your glory shine among your people, You work in them but are moved when they suffer. You love for your children far greater then your anger. We thank You lord for this love and prayer we always be under your wings...

We make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Ephesians 1:17-23
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

James 3:1
1 My brethren, be not many masters [teachers], knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
