God confirms His Word

Daniel 9:12 - And he hath confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem.

I had an interesting 2 days. Yesterday as I was fellowshipping with some brethren's a brother shared about a woman who claimed to have the spirit of the 'father'. Now any ordinary Christian would think she was referring to the Holy Spirit, but by her words and actions one would know what 'father' she referred to.

It so happened that this spirit told her that there were evil spirits in her sofa so she landed burning the sofa. It was also by this spirit she claimed that Jesus was uneducated and it was the Spirit in Him that enabled Him to speak scriptures and due to this reason she also did not read or study the Bible (there were many other crazy things she did led by this spirit). This claim that Jesus was uneducated is false, for there are many scripture which show Jesus could read and write and that He grew up learning scriptures. If we do not prove this claim false we deny the human factor of Jesus that God (The Son) humbled Himself and became 100percent man.

This claim of being illiterate and yet having knowledge of God is also made by Mohammad.

We need to understand almost all that Jesus spoke was from His knowledge of scriptures. That is why He does not claim to know the hour of His coming back for there is no scripture in the Bible (OT) which speaks of the hour (exact time) of the end of this world. But the day or season when it will happen is given in many places in the Bible, therefore Jesus and Paul do warn when the end will come.

Another factor where we see people deny confirmation of scriptures and thus claim corruption of scriptures is the adding of the 7 books to the OT by the Catholics which are called the Apocrypha (means non authentic or hidden). These are books which were written in the period after the Prophet Malachi and before Jesus. We need to understand the OT is what we got from the Jews and they believed Malachi was the last Prophet and after Malachi the Holy Spirit did not inspire or work thought any person for the period. We also see almost all the books or writers of OT are spoken of directly or indirectly by Jesus or the Apostles in the NT and the most important part is that none of the books of the OT and NT contradict each other, but when we look at the Apocrypha we see there are scriptures in them that contradict the NT and the OT. Things like praying for the dead, or the spiritual world of purgatory, or worship of Mary, or interceding of dead saints and most traditions of the Catholics have their roots in these 7 books. A few of the old church fathers did refer to some of these books (like Maccabees for historical reference) but they were never canonized (meaning measured by or confirmed them authentic). The Catholic Church tried to canonize them only in 1545-1563AD at the Catholic Council of Trent. If they were to be canonized why were they not done before? Why were they pushed into the Bible when people questioned the traditions of the Catholics?

People do not understand the Catholics have fused the word traditions with statutes and thus tried to authenticate their wrong rituals and beliefs. The Lord gave us statutes not traditions; the difference between them is the difference between smiling and grinning. Although outwardly they look the same but behind them there is great difference. One has joy and happiness and the other is a dead action or backed by mischief or evil intentions. Statutes build faith and traditions kill it.

In today's message the Lord tells us He confirms His every Word and that is why we find many scriptures cross refer to each other for God abides by His own rule and by the mouth of at least 2 or 3 He confirms His Word.

In Bible study after the stage of commentary study, comes the stage of cross-reference study. It is at this stage we see the once of scriptures and how the Word of God has been the same since the beginning. God and His Word can be separated and if God never changes how can His Word change?

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, many are deceived because they are made to believe your Word changed. They have broken your Word into Words. They have tried to bring disrespect to your Name and take away your glory. Lord, we pray You expose those behind this evil and bring them to day light. May You be gloried and your Word be uphold to all mankind...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
