Problems in the life of an anointed man

2 Chronicles 30:2 - For the king had taken counsel, and his princes, and all the congregation in Jerusalem, to keep the passover in the second month.

Before I come to today's message let me explain the background. In the times before Jesus Christ there were two distinct lines of anointed people one was the priestly line and the other kingly line. Those called to be kings were to do their work of authority in this world but were not allowed the works of the priest. Even wearing the Ephod was taboo and that angered God. The only kings before Jesus were King Melchizedek and King David who were exceptions, but entering the Holy of Holy was still out of boundary even for them.

It was only in Jesus Christ that these two lines came together. Jesus is the first one who is called a King (King of King) and Priest (Chief High Priest). We who are His disciples today also have both these line in us of royalty and priesthood.

Hezekiah is one of the most beautiful examples in the Bible of how an anointed person can get into problems. Hezekiah was blessed and prospered by the Lord for his heart was good and he walked with the Lord. The Lord protected him from many great dangers and blessed him in all that he did.

Hezekiah is a landmark in the Bible and to this world, because of his testimony time was altered (10mins were added unto time) and even today the world is witness to this event. Today when calculating time, Hezekiah's event and Joshua's event needs to taken into account to get the perfect account of time.

Hezekiah's problems started when people started bring him gifts along with giving gifts to the House of the Lord. It was after this that he felt sick and Isaiah was called to pray for him.

Serious problem do not just come in the life of anointed men. I am not saying problems will not come in fact many problems will come in the life of anointed men but they will not stand, but when they do stand then that person need to search in his or her heart to find the root of this problem.

When the glory of God is seen in an anointed person, people will come and alone with glorifying God they will also shower some on the anointed person. It is when that showered praises goes into the head of the person then problems start into the life of that person.

In my short life in the Lord I have seen quite a few live examples of great anointed persons fall due to this reason. People will come and praise you when you bless others but do not let these praises go to your head. When you start putting yourself to be glorified along with the Lord it is time you wake up to the testimony of Hezekiah. Hezekiah was healed by the mercy of God but he still paid a very heavy price, his generations had to suffer.

Right from the start the Lord kept me humble and even before I start my ministering I was instructed to keep my name far from my activities. Since I followed this it has helped me to concentrate on the Lord and not on people. I did face a many problems due to this but yet I did follow the instructions. Even my own blood sister (in Mumbai) received my mails forwarded from someone else (from Bangalore) and did not know that I was writing them.

Understand we should do all things to glorify God like Jesus did as man on earth. If we glorify ourselves then we will lose a great share of the glory of Jesus Christ when He comes again.

Our God is God and no problem is so great that it can stand before Him. If we can pray and change people's lives, heal them by just laying our hands, prosper tem by a small prayer, change history when we lift our hands up unto our God; then why do we suffer in our personal lives? Is our God not there for us? We are supposed to be the most loved of the Lord; does it please God to see us suffer?

It is time we see in our heart and set things to order or God will intervene and do that work through problems.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord Jesus, You were a perfect example when You were man on earth. You showed in ever action that all You did was to glorify the Father. Lord, mold our hearts and the hearts of your loved ones so that they become like your heart a perfect heart. Take charge of the reigns of our hearts specially during the time of test...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.
