Did you die on the cross with Jesus?

Colossians 3:2,3 - Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

The biggest problem with people who have come to know Christ is not Satan directly, but their own flesh (carnal self) which Satan uses to destroy them.

It always starts with small things of the flesh which become a habit until a day them it overtakes the person's thinking and blinds the person totally in every way.

To fight the flesh is not possible for man. Whatever victory he or her achieves against it is temporary, in some days, weeks or months that habit will be at his or her face again. The only way to overcome the flesh is via the spirit.

Jesus died on the cross for you and me. If it was not for Jesus we would all have been due to eternal death (death of our spirits). So in spirit we need to understand that it was our flesh which died on the cross with Jesus, for Jesus was a ransom for us. Now that our flesh died on the cross we have received new life through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. So if your old nature speaks to you, you need to tell it that, the person it is looking for is not here, he or she has died on the cross.

Dying on the cross does not mean to physical die, have no emotions or live lifelessly. Dying on the cross means to not let the flesh take charge over us and most important is to live for the real Cross; the Cross that we need to carry as disciples of Jesus Christ. It is only by this Cross that we will have victory over our carnal selves.

Just dying on the cross and not living for the Cross will not assure you victory.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Father God, we thank You for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. As He lived He showed us how we should live for the purpose of the Cross and carry our own Crosses. Lord, help us to nail our carnal selves to the cross and live for the real Cross; the purpose of Christ...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[ Reference Scriptures ]
Matthew 10:37-39
37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

Galatians 6:12-14
12 As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.
13 For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.
14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
