The Old and New Testament

-

Today the Lord wants me to speak about the division made by man of His Word.

One of the greatest hurdles for man to understand the Bible was caused by the early Church (Catholic Church). Due to their lack of understanding of scriptures they separated the Bible into two parts one of the time before Jesus and called it the Old Testament and the time from Jesus' coming as man as the New Testament. People may not see any harm in this and may find it convenient to understand.

In the Bible what is old that becomes new are things like the Covenants and spiritual man (born again). God throughout the Bible renewed His Covenant many a times with a better Covenant and those in the New Covenant have the benefits of new as well as the old but do not come under punishment (consequence of breaking the law) of the old.

We need to understand God was, is and will always be the same for ever. His Word is a part of Him and His Word too never changes and Like Him is one and therefore is called The Word not words.

Because of the segregating of the Word into Old and New Testament people are made to believe the Old is not valid and therefore do not study the Word. The Law of Moses in the New Testament is also called the Law of the Lord and Jesus said He did not come to change a bit of the Law but to fulfil it. Jesus as man kept every Law given by the Lord through His Messengers throughout the so called Old Testament (mainly Moses).

The Jews keep the Law in its letter and not by its understanding and one of the examples of the Law is demonstrated by Jesus is the law of the Sabbath. The Jews without understanding of the Law confused themselves greatly with it; that is why they had books bigger than the Word (Torah and books of the Prophets) giving instructions only about keeping the Sabbath. Jesus kept the Law of the Sabbath yet did nothing which the Jews did. He is called the Lord (Master) of the Sabbath because He had the understanding of the Sabbath.

What becomes a great hurdle for the Christian faith are the laws in the Law of Moses where the Lord instructs to kill, dismember, disconnect completely in relation, offer animal sacrifices, perform odd rituals, keep dietary laws etc...

Till a few days back when I did not have an understanding of it, knowing the Word is one and Jesus fulfilled it in Truth I did not reject it or call it invalid but awaited on the Lord to open my mind unto its understanding. But when the Lord started to open some of them bring them unto light I realized when Paul wrote we live to battle a spiritual warfare and not a battle in the flesh, he loved the Law of God but hated the law of flesh and sin.

It is only people of flesh who think and work in the flesh, people of spirit work in spirit and know the spirit world is the real world.

A good judge would never judge a person on a law that does not exist. The New Testament talks a lot on being saved from Hell but gives little about being saved in the Judgment Day. Jesus will come as Son of Man again to judge His people according to the Law but not according to the letter but according to the spirit of the Law for His Spirit will speak to Him in Truth.

It is time we come out of the deceit of Satan which he played through the early church over which he ruled and understand the Word of God in Truth.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, your people suffer due to lack of understanding. They lack authority in You because they are far from You and your Light. They do things in your name but do not know your true Name. Lord, help us surrender our flesh and desires of our flesh so that being people of spirit led by your Spirit become Sons..

This prayer we make in your Mighty Name, Amen.

[ Reference Scripturesr ]
John 1:1-4
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

Romans 2:1-11
1 Wherefore thou art without excuse, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judges another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest dost practise the same things.
2 And we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against them that practise such things.
3 And reckonest thou this, O man, who judgest them that practise such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
5 but after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up for thyself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
6 who will render to every man according to his works:
7 to them that by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and incorruption, eternal life:
8 but unto them that are factious, and obey not the truth, but obey unrighteousness, shall be wrath and indignation,
9 tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that worketh evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Greek;
10 but glory and honor and peace to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek:
11 for there is no respect of persons with God.

Matthew 5:17-22
17 Think not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven.
21 Ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
22 but I say unto you, that every one who is angry with his brother shall be in danger of the judgment; and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council; and whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of the hell of fire. (Jesus continues in this chapter giving disclosures which seem contradictory to the letter of the Law of Moses yet He actually did not change anything but gave its true understanding).

Luke 2:22-24,
22 And when the days of their purification according to the law of Moses were fulfilled, they brought him up to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord
23 (as it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord),
24 and to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.

1 Corinthians 14:21-22
21 In the law it is written, By men of strange tongues and by the lips of strangers will I speak unto this people; and not even thus will they hear me, saith the Lord.
22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to the unbelieving: but prophesying is for a sign, not to the unbelieving, but to them that believe.

Romans 7:22-25
22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
23 but I see a different law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity under the law of sin which is in my members.
24 Wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me out of the body of this death?
25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then I of myself with the mind, indeed, serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
