Justifying sins with works?

Micah 6:7 - Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

I am happy for today's message for it is very important for all of us including me, since it is a great deception we all hold.

There are many who think they are Christians and holy people because of the good work they do, these including so called Men of God / Preachers / Pastors etc...

Before I come to the punch of today's message:-

Understand as a Pascal sacrifice the Lord allowed the first born of sheep and also of goats. But when the Lord is addressed as a Pascal sacrifice He is addressed as a 'Pascal Lamb' but not as a 'Pascal Goat'. Just because God allows something we should not consider God is pleased with it.

Let me put it this way it is better to sacrifice a single lamb than a thousand rams.

The Hebrew word ram comes from the root word strength. The word translated as oil also means fat and symbolizes blessings (testimonies / output of our deeds) and first born symbolizes personal greatest sacrifice.

Today's message is a strong message to all. The Lord is telling us we may sacrifice a thousand rams, ten thousands of rivers of oil and give even our firstborn, would they justify our sins? Which means all the great deeds we do like ten thousands of crusades or missions we work and be blessed by tens of thousands of people and even sacrifice the most important things in our life for the Lord (like our jobs, our families, our friends, our social lives) but would they all justify for the sinful life we live?

God is telling us unless we do not have Him in us everything else would be meaningless. The only thing that overcomes sin is the Nature of God / Name of God in us. That is why in the very next verse He asks of us to walk in righteousness, love and building His people (carrying the Cross); unless we do not have all these 3 in us we do not have the Nature of God in us. Jesus' sacrifice is eternal but when we are baptized in the Holy Spirit we need to live the Life of Christ and we cannot keep using the sacrifice of Jesus for our sinful lives.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, there are many who live a life void of You, a life infected with worldly lust but yet do works of the Kingdom of God. They think their works will save them. We think all the blessings we see in our lives are proof of our salvation. We are deceived for we see with human eyes and not with our spiritual eyes. Lord we pray our eyes open and we realize along with the work we do in your Kingdom we also need to work on ourselves. We need to walk in righteousness, according to your Word, we need to love as You loved and we need to fulfil the purpose You humbled yourself and came as man to be a sacrifice that is the salvation of your people. Lord we pray as we grow outwards we also grow inwards...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Micah 6:6-8
6 Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old?
7 Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly [righteousness], and to love mercy [Godly love], and to walk humbly with thy God [carry the Cross of Christ with God/Holy Spirit]?

Hebrew 10:23-27
23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
