Lamentations


Today I was given a message to write on the book of Lamentations which is by Jeremiah. Today in the morning I was busy with my daughter's school program so could not send the mail but which I saw something about this mail which sounded urgent I sat during my office time to send this short message.

This book is like a national funeral for there was great disaster which took place among the people. Jeremiah had warned the people many a times but they refused to heed to his warnings.

What shook me was the coincidence of the number 22 in this book and today being 22th March I felt it urgent to send this message. I only pray there is no great disaster today and the mercy of God is poured over all.

In the Hebrew Scriptures chapters 1, 2, 4, and 5 have each twenty-two verses, and each verse begins with one the of the twenty-two letters of the Hebrew alphabet in order In chapter three the first three verses begin with aleph, the second three with beth, and so on throughout. The fifth chapter has twenty-two verses, but no acrostic.

I pray that people are protected and safe.
