The Lord's little ones

Matthew 18:14 - Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

Many attribute the Lord to be demanding and having very high expectation of us. But on the contrary the Lord (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) is most understanding. For example the most important commandment Matthew 22:37 - 'Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind', the word 'mind' Greek 'dianoia' refers to 'understanding'. The Lord does not expect you to be perfect from the first day you come to know Him. He expects the best of you not in comparison to others, but to the capacity and capability of your self.

When you are new in the Lord, He takes extra care and shows extra compassion for us. It is not that latter He forsakes us. The Lord wants us to be His sons not small children, He wants us to mature and make Him proud. He slowly and gently builds us to make us like Jesus. The Lord gets furious when His little ones are harmed; small does not refer only to the age but also to spiritual development. All children are not the same the level of attention, care and pampering each needs varies from child to child, similarly it is with people who have just come in the Lord. Let us have the heart of the Lord when ministering others and show love, compassion and with understanding attend to the ones who are struggling.

[ Prayer Starter ]

Father God, You are such a loving, understanding and compassionate God. You deal with us in utmost tenderness; help us to reciprocate the same unto others. Forgive me for the times I have been harsh to your little ones, help me from today to treat them as lambs; your lambs which You have given me to look after. I make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
