The Lord is Merciful

Psalms 145:8 - The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.

Of the four qualities of the Lord highlighted by the Psalmist 2 stand out which are compassion and the other mercy. These two indirectly leads to one which is mercy. Like the characteristic love is deeply intrigued with the Lord so is mercy. It is only because of the Lord's mercy that many of us are healed in both body and spirit. It is also only because of the Lord's mercy that we sinners and given an opportunity to return back to our Father.

In many scriptures it is written, the greatest delight the Lord takes is to heal His people. Even the throne on which He is seated in Heaven is called the 'Mercy Seat' and He is also referred to as the 'Father of mercy'.

We can always approach the Lord with a contrite heart being sure that we will receive mercy and we will not be turned back empty handed.

Lord God, You are a merciful God. Your mercy overflows your anger and your judgment. It is only by your mercy that I know You and alive to praise and worship You. I boldly approach You for mercy with a contrite heart being sure that I will receive your mercy for You are above all merciful. Lord by your mercy heal me and make me whole. I make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.
