Jesus broke the lines

Matthew 1:3 - Judah begot Perez and Zerah by Tamar, Perez begot Hezron, and Hezron begot Ram.

Today again the Lord wants us to reflect on the genealogy of Jesus and the one link that we need to introspect is the generation from Judah.

In the New Testament and even in the Old Testament is written about Jesus and His link to Judah. The promise of the Saviour was from Judah. Jesus is also referred to as the Lion of Judah.

We also learned day before yesterday about His connection with Abraham and David.

But in today's message the Lord is asking us to understand the actual meaning of His links. The son of Judah from whose line Jesus came (both Joseph and Mary) was Perez, whose generation were called Parzites. His son was Hezron and his generations also from whom Jesus came had branched into a tribe of their own and were called Hezronites. Jesus was not ever known as a Parzite or ever a Hezronite.

If one gets into how Perez who also had a twin brother Zarah was born, one would wonder why the Lord chose to come from a line which involved a father in law having children (twins) by a widow daughter in law. Yet we see Judah is given high respect in scriptures that Jesus is called of Judah.

What we see from scriptures is that leaving for Jesus no human had any stature which they could be proud of. Abraham laughed in the presence of God (God's Angel) with his face down to the ground. David killed to have illicit relationship with that person’s wife. Moses was a murderer and also being a great Prophet had a problem of stammering while speaking. Mary who was called blessed and is an icon of strong faith like Abraham, at one time believing the people who thought Jesus had gone mad and out of concern ran along with her sons to check on Him.

If one goes through the others in the genealogy we would get lot more but yet we see that Jesus was without blemish and had not inherited any of the ills of the people He was linked to in His genealogy.

We need to understand the curse of God of passing the sins (sin nature) was from father unto son up to 4 generations. For example if I rob, the nature to rob would be passed unto my son and his son and his son. If none of them ever rob then that nature would die but if any of them do then that nature goes down another 4 generations. Jesus had none of the nature of His earthly ancestors for His Father was no human but the Holy Spirit.

The mother's sinful nature gets passed to the children when the father and mother come into physical relationship. In the case of Jesus, He was not born out of any human physical relationship.

When God created Adam He took dust and put a human spirit in it and that became the first man. In Mary's case God the Son humbled Himself to being a human spirit and was put into womb of Mary to become a physical human being.

So being born of ancestors whom would be looked at as an idol being yet we have a Jesus born with perfection by the power of the Holy Spirit. We too when fully connected with Jesus through His sacrifice get spiritually disconnected from our ancestors and from all their sinful natures and their hereditary curses / illnesses.

If your father or mother is diabetic or have heart problems and these are hereditary, then understand you need to spiritually disconnect from them and connect to Jesus Christ. It does not mean you do not love them it means you do not inherit any of their spiritual infirmities but in Christ you are been healed from them all. We do not realize there are many areas where we accept the wrong unknowingly we need to discern them and work on them.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, when You created man your nature was there in Him but when He sinned the nature of corrupt Adam was passed unto all generations. You cursed man with the sinful nature of his fathers unto 4 generations. Even in your anger You made an escape for man through your Son Jesus Christ. In perfection You was He made man and in perfection was He kept thus became our eternal sacrifice without blemish. Lord Jesus in You, with You and through You we are set free from the infirmities of our ancestors...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?

9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
