Word of Knowledge?

Luke 19:30-32
30 Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither.
31 And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord [master] hath need of him.
32 And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them.

We see in today's message Jesus tells His disciples about a colt being tied in the village, to loosen it, and bring it to Him and if the owner asks to tell them that the master is in need of the colt. Jesus did this to fulfil scripture Zechariah 9:9.

According to scriptures the Lord promised 2 persons (Saviours) one a Prophet greater than Moses and one a king greater than David. One, they thought would save them spiritually and another from being oppressed by other kingdoms. People including Mary Jesus' own mother knew Jesus as one who would spiritually save them, a Prophet greater than Moses none thought of Him as saviour king.

It was later to this people thought Jesus would led them to revolt against the Romans and thus we see Peter started carrying swords.

Matthew records this event in detail and even sites the verses Jesus fulfilled. Jesus entered the city sitting on one animal while putting His legs on its young like a king seated on his throne. It was this odd sight that caused the people to wonder and remember the prophecy of Zechariah and thus welcome Jesus with such pomp. We see only when Jesus fulfilled this prophecy did the people recognize Jesus as a person who was both saviour Prophet and saviour King, that is why they rejoiced greatly and welcomed Him as a king would be welcomed.

In today's message we are to concentrate on, how Jesus came to know about the colt (ass and its young) that helped Him fulfil His mission? Did Jesus use His God powers? If so then it would fail scriptures that God humbled Himself and came as man - 100 percent man in the flesh. Jesus was man as you and me having no God powers, He was anointed and what powers He had are the powers available to any Man of God as he or she matures in the Lord.

People think Jesus had Word of Knowledge.

Actually there is nothing like Word of Knowledge in the Bible. There is knowledge of the Kingdom of God (including the Word) and there is wisdom to understand this knowledge. What they call as Word of Knowledge is in actual the prompting of the Holy Spirit. It was the Holy Spirit Who helped Jesus fulfil His mission on earth as man. The Holy Spirit did not help Jesus just in these ways by prompting but also helped Him to remain without blemish for Jesus as man was as weak as you and me. The Holy Spirit was the Power that helped Jesus resurrect from Hell (break free from Hell since Hell is a prison for sinners without grace and Jesus had no sins in Him, He went there since our sins were on Him and God had forsaken Him but since there was no sin in Him, He was set free). This Power did not work after Jesus died but worked while Jesus was alive but the results showed even after He died.

Today's message is in continuation of the messages we have been receiving about mission.

The Lord told us in the last messages He knows who to put on what mission and that He enables them with all things and surroundings they need for the mission before sending them. Today He is telling us even when they are on the mission He guides and helps them like He did to Jesus if only we be sensitive to His voice.

Let us remember as Christians God has put on a mission and He knows we are the perfect candidates for this mission. He has already given us all that we need before He set us out on the mission, our success in already written (collectively). Even as we are on the mission He will intervene and guide us through it.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, You are a Living God. You do not silently watch, but are active party to our mission. You prompt us and help us through our mission. Lord, help us be still in our hearts that we may hear your prompting and may do wonderfully in our mission...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Matthew 21:1-11
1 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,
2 Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.
3 And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.
4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.
6 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,
7 And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.
8 And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.
9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
10 And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?
11 And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.

Zechariah 9:9 - Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

Isaiah 12:6 - Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
