Waiting on the Lord

Hosea 12:6 - Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.

We all know that the Lord at times makes us wait before we receive our blessing. But there are times when we have waited for very, very long and not received our blessing. This is not because the Lord has gone for a holiday or has forgotten us, but the reason is that we do not do the 'right waiting'.

What is 'right waiting'?

Waiting does not mean just sitting ideal with hope. Hoping on the Lord is turning our eyes unto the Lord, from Whom all things come. But the Word of God tells us that we need to do more than just sit waiting in hope, we need to keep mercy and judgment.

The clue to accelerate the receiving of our blessing is by increasing both of these.

How do we get increase mercy and judgment?

To increase mercy there are two ways - one by showing mercy unto the needy and poor and the second by showing faith. Since faith is the twin sister of mercy, having faith brings in more mercy.

The second thing to keep which is judgment, also called righteousness. To increase righteousness we can increase its twin sister which is peace. Peace means firstly with God (by not offending Him) and then with man. Peace with man also has an order, firstly with those of God and then with those of the world. Realigning the priorities will not bring us in peace with God but will only anger Him more.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, I thank You for not only blessing us but also telling us how to receive our blessing faster. Lord, help me by opening my eyes to those opportunities You make available for me to receive my blessing faster. Also give me the courage and strength in my task. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
