Worship the Lord and Him only shall thou serve

Matthew 4:10 - Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.


I was forwarded a mail yesterday with regards to the last days, it was written by a person who converted from Christianity (Catholic) to Islam.

In this mail the person makes a nice cocktail from both the Koran and the Bible to answer the events leading to the last days. Wherever he did not get answers to his questions from the Koran he referred to the Bible. In one of his statements he confirms that it is Jesus who in the end comes back and wins the war of good over evil. But being careful so as not to confirm Jesus as Messiah he rejects His death and resurrection. He claims Jesus was taken unto Heaven before crucifixion and was replaced by a duplicate to die on the cross (that makes God a perfect prankster that even Jesus' close ones did not recognize this).

Every word of the Bible has and is been provided by History and science (by whatever limited knowledge we posses) even events connected to Jesus' death and resurrection are recorded in History (written by non-believers also).

Islam calls Jesus a Prophet and yet do not believe all what He says. They only want to believe things that do not go against their belief. Jesus Himself warned about the prophet of the desert, do they believe that?

We today live in a post-modern society, a society that believes that your truth is truth and my truth is also truth.

Truth is only one, for God is one, if Jesus says 'I am the only way' and another says 'I am also the way' they both cannot be right. One has to be true and the other a liar.

The Bible does not ask us to read the Koran or any other book, for the whole truth is in it. It is the Koran which asks one to refer to the Bible for further information when they need to know more of the truth.

Why go to a man who leads with half knowledge. Our Shepherd Jesus Christ is the Alpha and Beta the Beginning and the End, He answered every question and every question to depths which even till today we are nurturing its information. It is only those who do not know the Shepherd, are the ones that get lost and land up serving man or Satan.

This message is especially to our Catholic brothers and sisters and to those who do not give importance to studying the Bible. Reading the Bible is not calling studying it. One needs to go from commentaries to cross-reference and from cross-reference to word study and word study to scientific, historic, mathematical and other ways of study the Bible. Changing the order may cause one to get confused and lost.

Know your God by His Word and only then will you truly worship Him, serve Him alone and be able to shun away Satan.

Lord God, You alone are God and worthy to be worshiped. You reveal Yourself to us through your Son Jesus Christ our Good Shepherd. Lord Jesus, magnify Thyself through your people. We pray that You show Yourself to more and more people, especially those to evangelize Islam like You did to Saul and change Him to Paul...
