Here is God

"......Behold, mine angel shall go before thee."
Exodus 32:34pt

Abraham, by faith, went out into a land not knowing whether he went, but knew the Lord was with Him. The children of Israel had to go in and possess the land the Lord had given them. Although there were giants in the land, they knew God would be there and they had to trust in Him for victory.

There is an interesting map on display in the British Museum in London. It's an old mariner's chart, drawn in 1525, outlining the North American coastline and adjacent waters. The cartographer made some intriguing notations on areas of the map that represented regions not yet explored. He wrote: "Here be giants," "Here be fiery scorpions," and "Here be dragons." Eventually, the map became the possession of Sir John Franklin, a British explorer in the early 1800s. Scratching out the fearful inscriptions, he wrote these words across the map: "HERE IS GOD."

As we go through this life, we find there will be many"giants" in the land. There will be opposition and other things which could be stumbling blocks along the way. Our minds must be made up to know that "God is there" and will go before us. Our Lord will never call us to go anyplace in His will, in which His grace is not already there to sustain us.

What is your giant today? Many have "giants" of fear, unbelief, sickness, doubt, or other things which try to prevent them from claiming their spiritual territory given by God. Laying these things aside are easy, when we look in God's Word, our spiritual roadmap, and see God is there. Are there regions in your life not yet explored? God knows and will go before you to claim every promise.

When we "let go and let God," we have assurance of good success. "HERE IS GOD" must be written in our hearts as we realize we never walk alone when we let God's Spirit lead the way. We have the Lion of the Tribe of Judah who is mighty with us and give thanks for His ever abiding presence and help. Our God is real in our soul!

²⁹ For Moses had said, Consecrate yourselves today to the LORD, even every man upon his son, and upon his brother; that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day.
³⁰ And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the LORD; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin.
³¹ And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.
³² Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.
³³ And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.
³⁴ Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine Angel shall go before thee: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.
