Rejoice in Christ and praise His Name

Joel 2:23-26 - Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil. And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.


People who study the Bible would know that 25th December is not the day Jesus was born and those who have studied the history of the early Christian Church would know it was all for the wrong reasons that this day was selected.

Before I came in the Lord this day would one of the greatest fun day and after I came in the Lord and came to know of more of this day I was confused as to what to do; to celebrate or not. But over the period, I realized I am celebrating the birthday of my Brother who is the Lord of time. It does not matter what day or time I celebrate in His Name. When my daughter was small we would celebrate her birthday very month; for nearly two and a half years we did it.

Now the best moments of Christmas are those when my family comes together after service and we cut a cake singing happy birthday to our Brother Jesus; not those moments when people come to greet, nor when we party with others.

The Lord is telling us that if we are in Christ - the First, through whom we received the latter Rain (the Spirit of the Lord); then any and every day can be our day of rejoicing, our day of spiritual abundance and earthly satisfaction.

We, who were lost with the rubbish of this world and are now in light, will have joy which this world can not take away and is not dependant on any date or time.

Remember this day is celebrated in remembrance of Christ, so remember Him this day in a special way and be blessed.

Lord we thank You for the day You came as Son of man. The Heavens rejoiced for that day grace was made available in abundance for all mankind. O Lord of grace we praise and worship and bless your Holy Name. Let your Name be lifted up above all your people and may they be blessed in your Name...
