From the bridal to bear the cross

Luke 23:26 - And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus.


People think that as a Christian we are entitled to joy and good life on earth, they are sadly mistaken. If one really lives a Christian life one is void of all the pleasures of this world. It also does not mean that one needs to live a life of suffering or penance. As Paul puts it we need to be sober and vigilant.

Imagine a country that is surrounded by enemy countries at all sides. Even if this country has all the powerful weapons and the defense system which no weapon of the enemy can penetrate yet the person at the control cannot take things likely. He need to be vigilant at all times and also if he is drunk all these defense system and weapon become useless.

We as Christians are at war with the evil spirits and the world which they rule. Since these evil spirits hate us they will not spare any opportunity to destroy us. They will not just harm us but their intentions are to make an example of us so that fear enters the hearts of other Christians and using fear as a decoy they will penetrate the defense systems of others.

The Greek word Simon means 'herd' and the word Cyrene means 'supremacy of the bridle'.

Nothing in the Bible is just coincident. Every words and thing in the Bible which is recorded has purpose of understanding and showing us the path to the Truth.

Simon of Cyrene being chosen to carry the cross was a message to us by the Lord saying those who are from His herd and leaders from the Bride need to concentrate of carrying the purpose and mission which Christ came for.

Jesus came and made all things available for us. In Spirit He completed all things and now it is our turn to manifest it into the life of His sheep. He made salvation available but unless we do not take this message to His lost sheep how are they going to come to His herd and be saved?

If you just want be saved you need not worry but just believe in Jesus Christ. But if you plan to aim to achieve great in the Kingdom of God where you will spend your eternal life then be sober and vigilant.

The joy is in the spirit and soul not in the flesh.

Lord Jesus, man had no hope and there was none who could get us pass the closed doors. You came as the shepherd and became a mean by which the door is open to Heaven. Your Spirit is now with us and leads us on this path You have made possible. Lord we just do not want to be with You in Heaven but want to be as close to your Seat of Glory on the Mountain Top but not at the foot of it. Lord take charge of our flesh and its desires and let these desire be only the things of your Kingdom...

5 But be thou sober in all things, suffer hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil thy ministry.
