Fear the Lord and be blessed

Jeremiah 33:2,3 - Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD is his name; Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Some days back I was telling the story of Job unto my niece, nephew and daughter who are 4, 8 and 4 years respectively.

In that story I spoke about Job fearing the Lord and my daughter asked me what that meant. How does one explain to a child what fear of the Lord meant. But I tried by giving her an example about the relationship between her and me.

She acknowledged that she respected me because I am her father. She also acknowledged that I loved her and was a mean by which she received most of her things. And she even acknowledged that she was aware that I would punish her if she did something wrong, knowingly.

Fear of the Lord is basically knowing who God is and acknowledging Him for who He is. In today's message the Lord once again reminds us of who He is and His relationship with us as our Creator. Having fear of the Lord and crying out to Him will change our lives, for God promises to answer us and show us unimaginable things.

Today the Lord wants to ask each one of us if we are not having a personal relationship with Him or not seeing blessing in our lives; do we know our God and do we acknowledge Him?

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord God, You are God. You existed since ancient and for eternity. Time is created by You and You are beyond time. All creation is by and without is nothing. You are in control of all things even though in your patience and love You have given living soul its free will. You have promised in your Word which You remind us today tat all those who acknowledge You will show them great and glorious things. We claim the same for we lift our hands towards You and acknowledge You our God and Creator...

We make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.
