Correct us with Your Law
Jeremiah 10:24 -
O LORD, correct me, but with judgment [Law]; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.
Jeremiah Chapter 10 is more about the Church of God and as to what God sees in His Church. In today's message the people of the Church of God are crying out to the Lord to correct them with the Law and not in his wrath. One would wonder why law for the law exposes sin and sin brings death which is as good as the wrath of God.
The Hebrew word used here is 'mishpat' which is translated here and many places as 'judgment' and some places as 'law' for it inclines more towards the judge then towards the instruction of the judge. The Hebrew word used for law which inclines towards the instruction is 'torah'.
The torah was given to Moses by the Finger of God and the Finger of God is the Spirit of God. The law was given unto man by the Holy Spirit, but now by the sacrifice of Jesus we have received the Giver of the law. The Holy Spirit Who is our Helper, helps us abide by the law while operating under the grace of Jesus Christ.
We need to always remember it is only by the Spirit of God that the Church of God can stand and manifest into the Body of Christ. So let us come together and surrender unto the Potter and ask Hm to mold us into the beautiful Bride of God the Son.
[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, we thank You for your mercy and grace. It is by your mercy that You the giver of the law have humbled Yourself to dwell into man and fulfill the purpose of man. The Church suffers and is persecuted because it does not abide by You. Holy Spirit, work in the Church and correct us so as to let the glory of God be seen in it like your glory was seen among the Israelites when they abided by You...
This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.
[ Reference Scripture ]
17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.
18 And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.
10 And the LORD delivered unto me two tables of stone written with the finger of God; and on them was written according to all the words, which the LORD spake with you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly.
20 But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.
33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith Jehovah: I will put my law in their inward parts, and in their heart will I write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people:
34 and they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know Jehovah; for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith Jehovah: for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin will I remember no more.
31 The law of his God is in his heart; None of his steps shall slide.
