The Seven Spirits of God - the Holy Spirit

John 15:26 - But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.


Many people believe that when they are Born Again in Jesus Christ, they have received the Holy Spirit and all areas in their life will be good. But this does not happen.

There are also times we see ministering brother or sister gifted and operating in the Holy Spirit still having some areas wherein the person is weak and falls. Then the question comes, isn't the Holy Spirit working in the person?

This is because they do not have the full of the Holy Spirit. I am not referring just to quantity; I am also refereeing to aspect. It was only in Jesus Christ that the Holy Spirit was in full and in all.

Although the Holy Spirit is One, yet in the plan of redemption of mankind the Holy Spirit is Seven. There are seven Spirits of God yet they are One. Many think the Trinity is a great mystery; there are many more in the Word of God which the Lord reveals to those who read and meditate on it.

Isaiah 11:2
2 And the spirit of the LORD (1) shall rest upon him,
the spirit of wisdom (2)
and understanding (3), (also known as Spirit of Truth)
the spirit of counsel (4)
and might (5),
the spirit of knowledge (6)
and of the fear of the LORD (7);

When the Lord asked Moses to make the Tabernacle; in the most Holy place called the Holy of Holies, a candlestick with seven branches was kept before the Ark of the Covenant (Exodus 25:31-40), this candlestick symbolized the Holy Spirit. In the book of Revelation John is shown the seven Spirits of the Lord before the Throne of God (Revelation 4:4-5). Even the promise which the Lord gave in Genesis 9:13-16 of the Rainbow referred to the Holy Spirit (rainbow having seven colors). Till the Spirit of God is among man the promise given to Noah is kept. The day the Spirit of God is taken away from man all mankind will perish not with water like during Noah but by fire (2 Peter 3:10-12). This is what will happen on Judgment day.

In the Old Testament the Spirit of God was on selected people, people with a mission. Today after the death and resurrection of Jesus the Spirit of God is given to all those who believe in Jesus Christ, for each and every believer is given a mission. It does not mean that all seven Spirits of God is given.

What every believer receives for sure is the Spirit of Truth (understanding). It is the Spirit of Truth who reveals the Word unto us. This is the reason those who are Born Again or Baptized in the Holy Spirit start getting revelations and better understanding of the Word of God. The other Spirits of God are given as per the mission or the thirst of the person to receive.

As we grow in Spirit we not only grow in understanding by quantity but also start to receive the other Spirits of God and start to operate in Him.

So I ask each and every one to not be settled down with the Holy Spirit ( the Spirit of Truth) you have received, but thirst for more and more of the Holy Spirit both in quantity and in all, only then will we be like Jesus.

Father God, we thank You for your Spirit, whom we received through Jesus Christ. Holy Spirit of God, we thank You for dwelling in us and working in us. Help us to know You and built our communication with You. We want more and more of You, O Holy God. Fill us and build us so that we can glorify our God among all mankind...

Revelation 4:4-5
4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crowns of gold on their heads.
5 And from the throne proceeded lightnings, thunderings, and voices. Seven lamps of fire were burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.

Genesis 9:13-16 [NKJV]
13 "I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.
14 "It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud;
15 "and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh.
16 "The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth."

2 Peter 3:10-12
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,
12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?

Colossians 1:15-20
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.
18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell,
20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross
