How many hands does God have?

Isaiah 41:10 - Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.


In India there are people of a particular religion who make their god/goddesses with multiple hands, and when we believers look at them we get amused, how their minds can be so little as to make a god with multiple hands.

But do we look at ourselves at how little we are in our understanding of our God. I have seen paintings where God the Father is depicted as an old man. There are also statues of the Trinity which show the littleness of our human minds and our ignorance of our God. If I were a Muslim / Jew I would have screamed BLASPHEMY; as Christians our patience and tolerance as be taken as an okay to these nonsense. It is time we speak out against these things.

In today's message the Lord continues the message to us, that when we know our God and have the right relationship with Him, we will not be crushed under our problems. For God will strengthen us and will help us.

In scriptures hand is a metaphor for works (in some places where it is connected to God it represents His Spirit) and feet represent our ways / walk in life (therefore washing of feet represents cleansing our ways of living / past - forgiving and removing of footwear is shedding the worldly ways of living / renewing the mind). It is foolish when people think right hand means good and left means bad or evil. Both our hands are good, for our whole body is good and is the temple of God.

In today's message the Lord promises us when we abide by the conditions He will uphold us with good works of His righteousness. Thus be ready to see something great happening in our life.

Yet, if things are not happening and the pressure of your problems is very great then it is time for us to stand still and think do I know my God and have the right relationship with Him.

Father God, You alone are good and everything is defined by You according to your righteousness. You, in your wisdom found it good to bless man and to prosper us in your kingdom. Therefore You stopped at nothing to deliver us from the deceiver. Lord, help your people to know You better and have a better relationship with You, that the world may see You in us...

Isaiah 66:1-2
1 Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?
2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
