Rolling our ways unto His ways

Psalms 37:5 - Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

The Hebrew word 'galal' used here as 'commit', is also translated in many (12) places as 'roll'. If we put this word roll in its place we see a better understanding of commitment. When a person rolls, he or she is not able to see far ahead, the maximum a person knows is where he or she will do his or her next roll.

When we need to commit ourselves to the Lord we do not need to sit and make great plans for years ahead. We need to see immediately on hand - 'how can I change my direction and put my way unto to the Lord's way?' Look at every step, every decision that we take in life - is it inline with the directions the Lord as given in His Word?

Even if we are not confident we need to trust in the Lord to help us discern it. We may make a mistake or two but do not withdraw the rolling, we will soon learn to tune ourselves to the Lord and make less mistakes.

The Lord has great plans for us, for our prosperity and He will surely fulfill them if we walk in His ways.

[ Prayer Starter ]

Father God, You made me for You want to bless me with great things. Your plans include goodness not only in the Heavenly Kingdom but also on earth. You want me to be your witness to the whole world and therefore You will not let me down. Help me Lord that I stay committed to your way in every decision of my life. This I ask in Jesus' Name, Amen.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
