Poverty will come on the one that travelleth

Proverbs 24:34 - So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.

About 9 days back we had received a message about calamities coming on us. We may be thinking things are improving but we are deceived. While terror is increasing, weather is going for a toss, food and water becoming scarce; we also have another great problem that is raising its ugly head. The Lord is again telling us in today's message about the financial problem that is going to hit the people.

The message is clear the hardest going to be hit will be those who are spiritual migrants. Those who know about God yet deny Him. Among Christians many deny God through rituals and manmade traditions. They give importance to man over God and the word of man over the Word of God (including Believers).

If we read the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke with regards to feasts we see they differ with the records in the Gospel of John. If one goes through historical records we see people like Josephus did record how the feasts were changed during the exile of the Jews in Babylon because of silly reasons. What the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke recorded was that happened. They did not modify nor change anything. That is why in many places the Greek word used for feasts of the Jews used in the Gospels but they have been translated as just feast. This restricts us from getting the right understanding.

The Gospel of John is less a historical document like the other Gospels and more an autobiography of Jesus and that is why we see the starting text itself talks of Him in great revelation and the whole Gospel is unlike the other Gospels. The Gospel of John talks of the feasts at it ought to be and as it was told by the Lord. A few of the Jews did celebrate it according to what they were given not that they understood the feasts but even though they did not understand they did not change it.

The Lord is telling us we hardly know much about Him but what we do not understand we should not change but follow them as given, until we understand them.

Even the Ten Commandments when the Lord gave through Moses He called it the Law and Commandments not just Commandments. It was Jesus who really understood them and thus summarized them all into just two.

What we as Christians do and follow is far from what the Word of God tells us. As I came to understand the Bible I was just shocked to the way the deceiver has infected our belief and to what extent. The Word of God truly says who could be saved from being marked by the beast, had it not being for the Lord even the elect would not be saved from his deceit.

Now that the Spirit of God is given to us abundantly more is expected of us to abide in the Word. The worst problems to hit man and most effective to wake him up is not destruction of life but areas like prosperity, pleasures, luxury and the worldly peace. God is telling us at the same time those who really abide in Him will not be crushed by these events. They will survive through them for God is their Provider and Protector.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, unless the nest is shaken the eaglets will never learn to fly. Lord other than putting sense into the heads of the stiff-necked Christians You are waking up those who called to serve in your Kingdom. Lord we pray they wake up to their call, their purpose in You...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.
