God does not want your gold or silver, He prefers your earth

Exodus 20:23,24,25 - Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold. An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee. And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.

Many of us to show our love to one another present precious gifts. We will spend a lot of money or search all over town for that something which we think will please that person. When it comes to God we respond in that same manner. Many of us feel happy or I would say 'contented' by giving a part of our finances and call ourselves good Christians. Some may even spend some time praying or reading the Word to add to this.

This is not what God has called you for. When God created you He has put that something special in you which you may see as earth - something basic.

Just to give you an example. I was at a house service a few days back. The person, whose house I went to is a great musician, he plays many instruments, plays at 5 star hotels and has his own music classes and is in the Lord. Any person who knows him or meets him would say he has a good means of service to the Lord by the gift of music which the Lord has blessed him (I too thought that for some time).

But when I got to spend some time with him and his wife I realized that the Lord had called him not as a musician but as a counselor. In him the earth was more precious than the shining gold which others could see. His gift of discernment, patience, compassion etc. showed the precious earth which the Lord would want of him.

The Lord has made in each of us a beautiful temple which He wants us to discover and offer to Him as He made it. He does not want us to create something great of ourselves, but to discover the greatness in us and offer that unto Him.

[ Prayer Starter ]

Father God, You are Almighty God. Your wisdom is beyond measure. I thank You Lord for making me that special person in Christ. Help me Lord to discover that something special in me and to give that as an offering unto You for your Glory...

This we ask in Jesus' Name,Amen.

Romans 12:1-8
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
