Hosea 12:6 [NKJV] - So you, by the help of your God, return; Observe mercy and justice, And wait on your God continually.

I usually take quotations from the KJV-AV (Authorized Version) which is most accurate to the original text but runs out on the English. But today I specially took the scripture from the NKJV because this translation adds the word 'the help of' which is the message for today. It is not that the NKJV is wrong from the AV. In English a verb has active or passive tense but in Hebrew it has TVM (tone, voice & mood) by which better understanding on the background can be received.

Coming back to today's message. The Lord is talking to some of us today and that would include you, asking to turn back from our ways and to show mercy and justice unto others. But He also knows that by ourselves we cannot do it, therefore He is extending His Hand out to us saying 'hold on to Me and I will help you'.

In the Bible the Arm of the Lord or the Finger of the Lord referred to His Spirit. This means we need to hold on to His Spirit and by His Spirit the Lord will help us to observe mercy and justice; and also give us the strength to be patient and have hope in Him.

Lord, You have asked me today to change my way of life. To improve the areas where I have been unjust and did not show mercy unto others. Lord, help me to change with the help of Your Spirit that I may too avail of your mercy and justice. I trust in You. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.
